Well, I've got a pair sitting in my drawer right now that I'm not using, I'll just polish those off and they're yours for 40USD


* note: one of the pair is aluminium, and the other is steel.


After that, I won't be able to make any for quite a while due to my studies.

they generally take around 3days to manufacture (per hand) and would take almost a week to make a full pair. (around 24hours of work)

steel talons take upto 2 weeks to make a pair due to the difficult cutting process.
The level of precision also determines how long it takes.

I wanted to make wings once. But I guess I got lazy and am still collecting feathers. Im not a furry, but I love dressing up. The extended family has a Christmas party every year. Let me tell you, they are the biggest bunch of immature losers I have ever come across. I sit there with my arms crossed while they talk about what life throws at them...while my family is of course, rather insignificant.

So this year, I'm donning 'Santa Claws"...or rather the Christmas Cat in the Hat. My long tail, perhaps my wolf mask as a scare joke, and the Santa version of the cat in the hat...hat. My mother will be coming too, so we're going to be the usual black sheeps.

But anyhow, I did find a great furry site on costume building. I'd never have the patience to wear a full suit (Let alone make one, yes I cheated when I was in school, I got someone else to operate the sewing machine. I have zero clue how to even sew by hand neatly). There were moveable wings and tails...wow!

Damn, you did a really good job on those.

Personally, I'm not much of a fursuit-fan, nor am I really furry-obsessed (although I don't dislike it or anything).

I do remember a show on TV here in the Netherlands for kids, called "Nu" (means: "Now"). That show contains a part wich is played by dogs (so basically, people in fursuits), and I must say that they were very convincing. You could clearly make out the type of dog each one were representing, complete with facial expressions, eye movement, etc.

Indeed, they run pretty high.
But hey, the school that I made the mascots for were about to pay some professional mascot place $2000 just for one head. ^_^

You'll have to email Shadowsaber for a price quote. Mine is running $500, and that's a bargain for her level of work.

The usual rule of thumb for a professional craft is to charge three to four times the total of materials, depending on overall work. If you're doing something very involved and complicated, however, and the situation is obviously such that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts by an enormous measure (for example, making a headress out of beads--the beads and thread may cost five bucks, but it takes forever to put the thing together; or, a commission for digital art--material costs either nothing, since the computer components are already there, or if you must count them, 3 times $3000 for a graphics capable iMac, a Wacom tablet, and a licensed copy of Photoshop, for a total charge of $9000+ for a sketch of Figarou throwing a duckie at you), then this rule is obviously not absolute. But, most of the time, it's pretty applicable.

That would make a good quality face mask alone run at the very least $200-300, perhaps more if you want features such as articulated jaws or fancy eyes. A whole body would run a bit more, though hands, feet, and particularly the head are the most complicated and thus expensive parts.
