One of the earliest computer animations ever...from Disney??

Talk about movies, and whatnot, upcoming flicks, and current releases.

Beautiful! That is awesome and I remember seeing bits of this as a child as well. Thanks for sharing that with us Matt! Seeing as how I'm going into the field of computer animation this a treasure for me. I plan on sharing it with my classmates for the fun of it.

Ah, I love their techniques. That old clip is a great example of well designed compositing. Their virtual camera work is STILL better than Pixar. Back then and now. I use similar steps to making an animation, but typicaly skip using vector tests. I just test shots using toned down graphics for quick test renders, and work with it one shot at a time. Disney will always be much more tedious going from the storyboards to the finished product. Makes fore higher quality shots that can be implimented into any technique of their choosing, like the that rotoscoping that they often excell at.

Notice how long each camera shot lasted. That envoles tremendous work in any project. I would love to see more people play with the camera movement in film more.
Lurking softly, reading your posts, loving your ideas...
