I was being sacrastic about the "it being a good thing". I just said it as like an opisote to the song that Midnight happen to mention(glad someone caught on). In anycase wether you two like it or not, its our own population control, and in the animal kingdom babies die all the time.

I have to agree with Shadow wulf and Pariah. War is indeed the ONLY form or population control we have. It isn't good, war is a terrible thing, true, but it's all we have. If we had no war then this planet would be way overrun. Disease could be argued as a form of population control, but how much longer before we have cures? There are already treatments that make you last longer, but I'm not saying we should start incorporating diseases into our over populated towns and what not, that would be just as bad as war (actually it would be like chemical warfare). This species has no idea how to handle itself, I'm amazed we've lived this long without going extinct, but we are still young, so who knows.

We've screwed up, but we are trying to fix things. Sometimes even things we hand no hand in. Sometimes organisms die because well, they suck.DarkShadow wrote:Thats a good point. I know some people dont like to hear that, but it is true. man HAS screwed up a lot. we tear down forests to make factories that are bad for us and the enviroment. the forest is the wolve's home, and we keep taking it away. no wonder they have no where to hide and live in peace.Teh_DarkJokerWolf wrote:Anook wrote:Well, I understand where your coming from.
But, I don't see why Amoux would have a reason to ly. Maybe he/she was just trying to get people to see it from a different point of view.
Anyways, I have nothing more to say.
Defend those who can't speak for themselves..Wolves are smart...They know damn well to stay away from man..Man doesn't seem to know to stay away from them an leave them be..The real animal isn't covered by fur..
Wolves did get f*** over by us, but they're f*** their fellow wovles over before. Canis Dirus, the Dire Wolf. Once wolves started getting fast old Dirus was left in the dust, eaten out of house and home by his fellows. Went extinct.
And he's but one of millions of species who die out simply because they suck and are beaten out by better designs. It's not always our fault.
As terrible as war is, War does have advantages. As cold as it is, we do need population control and war does provide that. Often times invention has been spurred on by war. Where'd we get nuclear energy from? Atomic bombs. What about submersible craft? A desire to strive the enemy from beneath the waves. What about jets? Well, need a faster, better warplane, don't ya?As a wise man once said: "What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!"
Necessity is the mother of invention. And the rigors of war provide the most driving needs. Survival.
The double-sided sword of Sentience. It grants a sentient species to truly strive for greatness. Sadly, it is oft misused by much of humanity. But, that's only natural. We're a young species and we're only just beginning to establish things to help fight ignorance, and many places don't have access to knowledge, to truth. For the most important wars are fought with words, and they happen constantly. Ideas are bullet proof. You can't kill them. Even if you destroy one, someone else might think of it later on anyways. Or find the idea and revive it.I dunno why wars take place anyways..Just as I don't understand why wolves are attacked..
Which is why wars of blood and death are fought. Why people still fear/kill wolves. Ignorance and those old defenders of old wrongful ideas still spreading their message, and people buying it.
That's why I don't go "Ugh, humanity" because that does nothing. This needs to be fought to keep humanity from doing down some seriously bad paths. To save the wolves. To save everything.
Or, everything that matters to us. Unless we develop some manner of accidentally destroying the universe we don't stand much a chance of endangering it otherwise. Some alien trillions of light years away won't notice if we get into a nuclear war and turn Earth into a ball of molten glass.

This does not make me at all hopeful that crazed rednecks won't kill every wolf they see just because they can.

Only the cattle rancher had any argument of worth. Protecting her stuff when it's threatened. That's a far more intelligent response than "Yeehaw, Ah'm gonna go keel me sum wolves!"
That Otter needs a smacking. Yeah, let's put all that time, effort and money into having 1200 or so wolves pop up, and then piss it all away by killing them down to about 100. Ethical reasons for opposing what he suggests aside, that's just ...totally unsound from a purely pragmatic standpoint.

My fellow pack members,
I would like to make an apology to anyone who now has mixed emotions toward me because, of my posts here in this thread. I want to resolve this consternation(and conflict) and explain to you why I typed what I did.
Believe me when I say, I am not against the wolves and I never have been and never will be. If I gave you that impression then I apologize, it was completely inadvertent(accidental). I apologize for the false speech I made about the “ over-population” of wolves and for not thoroughly researching the topic.
I misconstrued the ABC video and truly thought that that was the main reason they were allowing people to continue to hunt them. I was wrong and I don't have a problem admitting that. Because of the impression I might have given you; I perfectly understand if any of you consider me an interloper. Though, I hope you don't..
Now that I have apologized to every one of you; I would like to apologize to specific people.
Shadow Wulf, I'm sorry I told you to research your topic when I myself didn't do a very good job of that.
Set, I'm sorry for not thoroughly researching the topic as well and for continuing to prove I was right when I wasn't.
Joker, ever though I have already apologized to you, I would like to say I'm sorry again. I'm sorry for saying you were wrong when I myself was wrong on the entire thing.
I do hope all of you can forgive me of my ignorance on the matter and next time I'll research the topic better.

(Yes, I should have posted this a lot sooner, but I've been out of town and haven't been able to spend more than a couple of seconds on the forum.)

I had a really good response to your post towards me. But like I said it got deleted and since then I never felt like redoing it. I lost the will. But my main thing I was trying to say is that I didnt need to research the topic up myself. Some of them what they said is misinformation or they give you a moraly wrong reason and pass it on as good. I use from what I learned so far about the situation and commen sense to put the puzzle together to an undenying truth about Idaho and Montana.
