I love that animie!!!

and it would rock if they do it! It scheduled for an 2009 realese.

but it isn't for sure yet, and it looks like it hasn't been updated in a while

They made a slide show of concept art about how the movie might look like. It has some nice music that sounds like it was taken from Akira.

Hmmm. That would be cool to see one of the good animes out there to get a live action version.

I knew about this for quite some time now, but never thought anybody enjoyed the anime enough on this site to ever bother to post about it.

Its pre-production phase is going very slowly (over three years) and has only secured roughly half their budget of $125 million. The only updates thus far have been concept art done by WETA, renowned for their work on Lord of the Rings and King Kong.

I hope that it progresses further later this year. But, considering its production history... I will not hold my breath.
