The Incredibles vs. The Fantasitic Four
has anyone discovered the striking similarity between the incredibles and the fantastic four? for those of you who haven't, here it it. Mr Incredible = The Thing (super strength and damage resistant). Elastigirl = Mr. Fantastic (elalstiblilty). Violet = The Invisible Women (invisiblity and force fields). and, here's a tricky one. jack jack and dash = The Human Torch (dash has super speed and jack jack has the fire ability, both of which Torch has). creepy, no?

I don't think it's as big of a coincidence as you're making it out to be, although it definitely can't bode well for Fantastic Four. The thing about The Incredibles is that the family + Frozone all have powers that have been done to death in comics and cartoons. Short of Superman, unfortunately, the Fantastic Four are about as stereotypical as they come.
Though I doubt they intended to parody the Fantastic Four directly. In an interview with the creators, it was stated that their powers were supposed to be reflective of the traditional American family.
Mr. Incredible = the father: felt obligation to support the entire family.
Elastigirl = the mother: feeling of being stretched out between the house, the kids and the marriage.
Violet = the teenager: Keeps their feelings hidden and acts defensive when questioned.
Dash = the kid: hyperactive.
And Jake-Jake... Well, on top of his burning man form, he also had a man of steel form and a demon form, which kind of reflects how a parent may feel about their newborn son. As Robin Williams said in reference to his newborn: "You've got one dream where he's going 'I'd like to thank the Nobel Academy for this honor,' and another one where he's going 'You want fries with that?'"
