That I think would be more effective and more hilarious. Imagine one group of soldiers wearing gas masks stepping over a bunch of other soldiers rolling around on the ground like this.Baphnedia wrote:There are enough sex-drugs out there that even a mist-form of Extacy would work wonders.

If a few soldiers happens to be immune to the mist-form of Extacy.....this could happen.Terastas wrote:That I think would be more effective and more hilarious. "A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting."

Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS 5 that military leaders had considered, and then subsquently rejected, building the so-called "Gay Bomb."

I dunno what's more weird about this: that they somehow thought that a group of gay soldiers wouldn't fight (Don't tell the Spartans that...) OR that the Military actually has a method of delivering something like that.
If they want to stop fighting, THC would be much more effective as a vector. Stoned soldiers can't fight effectively...really, they're too tranquil and the cannabinol has pretty well turned off the agressive mind.
There are any number of Psychoactive substances that are readily available and don't require experimentation.
I suspect that this so-called "Gay Bomb" was a smokescreen for some other form of experimentation.
After all, you couldn't really tell if those soldiers weren't gay before they got sprayed...

With all the other seemingly-obvious suggestions made here. I absolutely wouldn't doubt it.I suspect that this so-called "Gay Bomb" was a smokescreen for some other form of experimentation.
My first idea for a "Gay-Bomb" would be a useful threat to countries apposed to homosexuality. The Middle Eastern countries (of which we have a generally negative view on.) have incredibly strict laws against homosexuality, -- one convicted of homosexual behavoir would be killed or jailed for life in many countries -- I wouldn't doubt that making people in these such countries homosexual could tear apart their social system if someone "gay-bombed" a large city. It's be a great way to turn the people against themselves (and hate America and gays even more in the process. I'm saying it's an idea, but not a very good one.)
But I doubt that would be the reason. Just the fact it changes sexuality would induce a lot of Gay-Rights and Civil-Rights protestors against it (but then again, how much of us really know what America's doing with its troops at this moment?). Once I think about it, I think it's pretty sick, too. I don't believe there should be such a thing as any existance of any form of drug that changes sexual orientation -- whether to gay or strait. Threatening to turn people gay would invoke a fear of becoming gay from those whom are already self-satisfied as being a heterosexual. This fear of becoming "infected with homosexuality" would also encourage an idea of homosexuality as a spreading disease.
But more importantly it would blur the line of being gay or strait, causing a stress factor on the homosexual community. The current consensus to the cause of homosexuality is that you're born, and you can't change. If a drug were made to change gay people strait (which I'm sure could be an underlining cause for the "gay-bomb" research.), many homosexuals would feel pressured to by society's standing of conformity and a pressure to find a partner.
(I can only imagine a hard-core group of fundamentalists spraying "strait gas" on a Gay Pride parade, or a School Bible Group passing out "strait pills.")
I would personally like to keep the idea that sexual orientation can't be changed (and shouldn't be surpressed.). I'm not against research comparing different orientations, but I think all research should be made in the light that nobody is a better or worse person due to their gender identity. This "study" obviously shows a bias that all gay men are promiscious and only want to have sex with each other, which these researchers should be smart enough to know is not true. I wouldn't know the motive for ending homosexuality in America, but I'm absolutely sure the pill would sell for some big bucks.
You brought up a great idea there Red-Eye.

But, would deployment of such weaponry result ultimately in the increasing sophistication of the enemy, advancement of their arts and theater, and give them ultimately superior casual attire and home design?
