Holy hell, are these games hard. They are doctor simulators for DOS (they can be played with DOSBox). Basically, you examine, diagnose, and operate. The hard part is the operating... I mean damn. You have the watch the EKG, administer the correct drugs at the right time (an incorrect dose of a drug will kill your patient). Anyway, they're great games, check them out. The manual of the first one reprints an old doctor's manual that'll tell you how to perform the operations, and if you don't understand it, like I didn't, you can check out a walkthrough online. The second one, I think, has an in-game book, so you don't have to be bothered with a PDF file.
