Transformers: Animated

Post by Dreamer »

Have youy heard about the new Transformers: Animated series? I was a bit iffy on it seeing the original (Very ugly) poster and hearing that the Decepticons were going to be focused on a bit less. Of course, I just read an interview that somewhat allayed my fears. It's at:

If it's anything like Teen Titans, count me in!

OMG

The art is terrible. Well not terrible for Teen Titans, but terrible for Transformers.
Megatron/Galvatron is always the main badguy (sometimes Unicron) but not having Megatron in every episode is like not Transformers.

Come on, it doesn't look that bad. It's just way more stylized than the other Transformers series.

Oh why!!!

I thought a new transformers would be cool, but now i rather shoot my self in the foot than seeing it. The art is terrible it looks like the bastard child of teen titans!

and plus OPTIMUS PIRME IS NOT A FIRE TRUCK!!! :x

I can't see how they would make this any worse.

Hmm, the art indeed looks like s*** and very simple. What happened to the detailed drawings from the 80's?

They're way-overdoing stylization. They're cartooning the snot out of it. With no less degree of effort, they could just as easily draw characters with less distorted proportions. In terms of visual quality, it takes animation backwards thirty years. Visually, the original Transformers looked better.

What little I've seen of Beast Wars shows the direction I hoped things would go. That was pretty sharp.

What really hurts is that the new crap draws from an Anime influence, meaning that the parties responsible must have seen some Japanese animation. Contemporary Anime--and even titles from fifteen years ago--are light years ahead of this crap. Just watch Macross Plus, and you'll see what Transformers could look like.
