Think deferment
I had a problem getting something to work in Quicktime fairly recently. I just reinstalled it, and everything worked. It does, however, have this annoying tendancy to put "qtask" in the startup section of msconfig, and recheck it every time its unchecked whenever I open anything in Quicktime.
And people complain about Microsoft!

Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...
Re: Think deferment
I don't believe it's required to run QuickTime, so my suggestion would be to either delete it or (if you prefer to keep it around) rename it so it won't be found.Scott Gardener wrote:It does, however, have this annoying tendancy to put "qtask" in the startup section of msconfig, and recheck it every time its unchecked whenever I open anything in Quicktime.

No, I don't have a landing pass. I'm looking for Lando...
Thanks; I'll try that fix.
As a side note, if you ever buy an iTunes card, save the receipt until you've made sure it worked. I'm currently engaged in an effort to validate a card I bought two days ago. If I wanted to be a pirate, I'd have already downloaded the music, burned it to CD, and played it to death until I was tired of it by now.
