I remember from a show on History that peoplewho like vampires are generally "lonely and powerless".

And they're probably in the closet. How else would you explain the fact that so many vampires in media are bishounen.

White Wolf makes some awesome vampires. They basically have every type of vampire under the sun. From fellows like our ugly friend, to ones more pleasing to the eye and everything in between. With various powers. 'tis nifty.

Oh, and religion really has naught to do with it. One could like them and have no religious belief to speak of, really.
