I thought it was pretty good :) Though I agree that the ending was way too rushed. Oh well.
I liked how its really different from non-anime animation :) If it ever becomes available to buy anywhere in the US (fat chance), I'd snatch it right up. 8) Makes me want to find and read the book now too :P

And that kitty did tear easy at the end  Maybe Francis has some really sharp claws, and the other had thin skin due to old age and the gentic testing done to him..Was pretty bad-a** either way  lol

True, the ending was a bit rushed; especially when they didn't tell you whether or not Bluebeard was dead (couldn't swore he was breathing after being dragged outside).

The violence was a bit grusome but, I think, the movie isn't intended for young viewers. Kids wouldn't understand the significance of genetics and the reasoning behind the deaths, the cult, and what Claudandus wanted to do to his kind. I think the reason for the grusome violence and massive killings was to show how far one can go with trying to design the perfect species or working with genetics for the wrong purpose. It is shown as a consequence when you don't let nature take its course and when you use science to alter nature. Of course, this is what I think; there can be many interpretations for this.

I thought it was quite humerous, considering it was nto something you would expect from that type of anime exactly. Just my opinion atleast. :)

Well geez, they talk about it on and off frequently in the first five chapters. And that weird bookworm cat had freakin' ancient Egyptian porno on his wall, naughty bits included. And that big fatty more or less insinuated that he was going to make Francis his b****. Was it really that surprising?

That and there was plenty of blood and gore in the opening parts too.

I have to agree with Silverclaw, I didn't see any feline private parts in the scene.

Yeah, I thought the porn on the walls was worse than the kitty sex. I mean, it's nothing more than you'd see in a wildlife documentary.

WARNING-This is most likely rated R. Launguage, graphic violence. The dream sequence in part 4 is especially disturbing...

Cartoon that looks very Disney + cat sex = accident waiting to happen..

To elaborate...

"Mommy, can we rent this?"

"Why sure honey! That looks like a fun little film we can watch as a family!"

I didn't enjoy it at all. "Secret of Nimh" is much better.

It was dumb when the main character, (sorry, forgot thier names.) was suprised to hear the cat that was killing the others actually talked to a human when he himself knows how to read and use the computer.

Lame. :P

That's what my dad was thinking when he picked out Akira for us.

And that is precisely why we need disturbing animation like this: to counteract the largely Disney-enforced belief that animation can't be used to make anything but generic children's movies. Even after Fritz the Cat, The Simpsons, Beavis & Butthead, Family Guy, South Park, The PJs, Father of the Pride, Drawn Together, Tripping the Rift, Aquateen Hunger Force, Stripperella, Slacker Cats, Gary the Rat, Celebrity Death Match, etc., etc., that's still the prevailing perspective: that if something is animated, it must be for children.

You don't want people to think Camp Lycanthrope is just another generic cornball family movie, do you?

Hilarity ensues
Though I think organs spilling out of kitties is a lot more disturbing than kitty humpin'

Aww, poor Fig*pats head* At least I put up a warning. *coughs*
Here, have a duckie... :duckie

Same sortof thing happened to my little brother. He was really into Pokemon, but it was still before they really started releasing the VHS/DVDs of the show. So my dad was at the libary looking for something Pokemon-ish for him. He brought home Ninja Scroll  Later I asked him how it was, he said something like, "There was a monster sucking a ladies booby.' Said he turned it off about halfway.

Terastas brings up a good point here. There are parents out there who believe that since it's animated, than it's okay for their kids to watch. For a majority of animated movies, that is not the case. Just because there are talking animals in 2D or 3D style animation, doesn't mean you can let your 7 or 8 year old watch it. Hence the rating system. I enjoy cartoons that not prevail to little kids but to a more, mature audience because they are thinking out of the ordinary cliche of animation=fun for kids.

Don't get me wrong, I love Disney movies, as well as those created by Don Bluth, Dreamworks Pictures, Warner Brothers, etc but animation is an art form that can be used in many different ways and to cater to various different audiences.

Now I'm not saying we should have more animated movies with very distrubing images like cats being multilated or humping each other for pleasure. I'm just stating that not all animated movies and shows cater to a young audience but to a more mature one, such as Felidae and that parents should be careful of what they show there kids and to not always think that all animation is for a young audience.

Actually, I thought he wasn't surprised that the killer could talk to a human, but that he would talk to a human. It seemed to me like he considered that a taboo or something.
