An interesting beer commericial (furry involved)

Post by Shadow Wulf »

Well just to get that well talked about oringina commercial out of your mind, I found this beer commercial that actually has....well furries. Although its just the heads I thought it was a more pleasantly appealing commercial than the oringina.

Alright! A thylacine! :D

Edited to add: they would have been so much cooler with tails though!

The Orangina one was done better. Even the snake had perfectly human hands.

Too human for my tastes. There's a fine line between human-animal where appealing becomes "creepy" I prefer closer to real animals than human beings with animal heads. A certain amount of caricature and stylizing would dramatically increse the appeal of any animal character in these types of commercials

That's just one animator's opinion...

I've seen this before, and actually first, than the Orangina. I can't say which is "more appealing". To me of course, it's not, since they're just heads. It lacks a certain flow.

Neither are appealing because it's a beer commercial oO

Anywayz fun little video though I liked it. I liked all the expressions 'n' what not. I have to agree with Matt a little on this one. It was a little ackward with just the heads.

I thought it was an interesting commercial and a bit more tamed (no pun intended) than the orange juice one.

I've seen this before on another furry forum. I personally like it more than the Orangina ad (which I saw right after), since it allows the viewer to focus more on the CG than on the "wild content" like the other ad has. It looks a little awkward with them only having animal heads, but it doesn't detract much from it since they're very well done. Of course I definitely wouldn't mind the use of more animalistic parts and such in other commercials trying to achieve a similar effect.

That was wierd

However the animations simulating emotion were quite convincing.

I will say this: the fox had a lot more character than any of the Orangina animals. I still laugh every time I see the look he gives the Rottwieler when he gets up to leave. But yeah, since their heads were almost completely animalistic and everything else about them was completely human, it just looked really weird.

The only other thing that really kinda' got to me was how much attention was payed to the characters in the background. In the Orangina ad, everyone was perfectly animated -- even the flowers in the opening sequence were animated. In the beer ad, if you look at all the others in the bar, their faces are completely stiff. Even the ones that are moving like they're supposed to be talking are doing it with their mouths shut. I know that sounds like nitpicking, but as one of the chief animators on Shrek once said of animating the backgrounds, the audience won't notice all the work that was done, but will notice the lack thereof.

He was a thylacine. AKA tasmanian wolf or tiger. I did a report on them once.
