Awesome news Matt!

By the way, if whichever studio that may pick it up decides to water it down because of the really stupid stigma that "Animation is just for kids", mention that actually there is a large following for shows like Avatar and several shonen animes that are targeted towards the teens-to-adults demographic your film skews towards.

I was in Barnes and Noble tonight..and they were having this huge BREAKING DAWn book release party ( anyone who knows the Twilight, eclipse books knows all about this series about vampires and werewolves )

Anyway, there were a metric s***-ton of young girls dressed up in costume ( as well as a few VERY BRAVE boys ) Two of these girls stopped next to my table and were talking about the books. it went something like.......and I did NOT make this up:

"Hey look, a book on bats!"
"I like bats, reminds me of vampires."
"oooh, a book on wolves!"
"I like wolves! And werewolves!"
"me too. i wish the werewolves weren't so lame in the books. Same goes for tv shows. Werewolves are always evil and that's so lame."
"I know. I love wolves"

So there you go. Maybe people are really jonesin for a good werewolf film that doesn't portray them as monsters or whatever. Maybe CL can be the first film to do it right.

We can hope. And Camp Lycanthrope would be fun, not just non-horror. Thus, you get two targets with one film. Not bad.

That's the goal I always had with CL. I didn't want it to be one of those ww movies that was filmed in dark and "extra dark". I wanted a character-driven ww movie that was FUNNY. And I can't think of any werewolf movies that were a "fun ride" or much of a "popcorn" movie. American Werewolf came pretty close though. Most people only cite the transformation sequence from that film and not so much the story ( even though I liked it a lot )

I was practically mauled by 100 teenage Edward crazed girls for announcing that it is ONLY a BOOK! I was the lone wolf unfortunately at my Barnes and Noble. I was in a world of Edward fans. In fact, I simply just blinded into the background and was quickly ignored. OMG!!! I am like Solid Snake in real life!!! :D TOO many teenage hormones for my sake. Yeah, there were a few BRAVE boys at my Barnes and Noble as well.

All in all it was fun, and I have to e-mail Brad, as they were selling his book, "Werewolves: The Encyclopedia of Shapeshifting Beings." They sold out of every copy... well they only had three available, but still.

Honestly guys, there is NOTHING more scary than a pack of rabid Edward crazed Teen girls... :P

There were at least 200 or more costumed girls swarming that bookstore last night. I can only DREAm that Camp Lycanthrope would develop that kind of fan base.

Jacob > Edward.

(I didn't even think Twilight was THAT good, or original. I guess vampires just aren't my cup of tea.)

Anyhow, I digress.

AWESOME NEWS!!

Also: I completely agree with the "cartoons aren't just for kids" sentiment. By making CL fun and serious at the same time, you're not only doing US a favor, but everyone else too.

Actually the Twilight series is written like a poor fanfiction with Mary Sues and Gary Stus abounding. I read a few pages from the new book my little sister had and laughed because it was stereotypical.

We had a midnight Twilight party at our store for the release... Oy Vey! I now see why the were (Jacob) wants to kill the Vamp (Edward). Vampires DON'T sparkle like bad 80's glitter pop stars! ??

Camp Lycanthrope was always written with a national/worldwide audience in mind. Not just for werewolf fans, because if I had, the only ones who'd
"get" it would be just that...werewolf fans.

Hmmm.....I guess "us" was taken as "us werewolf fans."

I should've said "everyone."

Still, congrats on making it to semi-finals.

Mind you I haven't had that much exposure to it, but based on what I've seen, well. . . It's only bad if you bought into the hype around it. Twilight is to literature what Michael Bolton was to music. :P

And for making it to the semis:

Sorry I'm just sick of people gushing to me about this book online. And it it too much to ask for well written and involving characters with deep backstories and personalities?

Don't worry you're not the only one who was less than thrilled at how the Twilight series ended. It was an okay read, but nothing special. CL is much better as the characters are actually likable... Not that Jacob Black wasn't likable, but honestly he was the only character I really cared about in the Twilight Series. Everybody else simply existed to be beautiful.
