Tom Waits, Anyone?

He's a slightly insane old man who does everything from crazy circus music about midgets and hookers to really inspiring ballads. He likes to make his own instruments, bang on household objects and just do strange things with his raspy voice in general. He can do blues, pop, jazz and a whole lot of things we dont have a name for! And he's just awesome in if you ever hear him go on about a story. He carries a notebook of weird facts around with him and likes to share. Haha.

Little known fact: "Jersey Girl" and "Downtown Train" are originally Tom Waits songs.

And of course the Myspace where you can actually hear some of his stuff:

Huh, a Tom waits song just came up on seeqpod at the same time I read this thread. Walking Spanish. I rather like it.

I've had Tom Waits imposed on me a few times. I respect him and acknowledge him as a talented artist. But, he sounds too much like a drunk, depressed version of a stereotypical biker.
Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...
