The werewolves rise to power

Post by wolfward »

When werewolves first became well known to humans, they were feared, and driven out from their homes towards western Europe and America.
They were persecuted and tortured, for they were young and inexperienced in the art of surviving on instinct. So they retreated to the forsets of America, where the remained hidden and unnoticed. For so long in fact, they became "Myths" and "Legends".
But some knew. Some believed in their true existence, and these people were mocked and laughed at for their beliefs. One day they will rise to power and win back their authority as the greatest creature on earth.
Or, so I thought. I, a mere boy of 14 could only stand in confusion of what to believe. I tried religion, idols, ideals, political thoughts...nothing really did it for me.
But then I found it...one day the thought hit me. "Why not just find your own beliefs, instead of trying to believe what others tell you?"
Since then I have been searching and found nothing. Until one day...what was only fantasy for me became reality.
The process was painful, I admit. But I loved it, for I knew what I was becoming. Forgetting my human past I ran. I ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore. I looked around the Utah plains....Nothing.
I longed for other newborns to be with. Others to teach and learn from. Someone to tell, someone to talk to. I let out a long "HhhhhhhhooooooooOOOOooooOOOoooooowwwwwllllll....." before continuing onwards towards my future.

I understand this is in the "Informal" section but I feel I must ask.
Do you want us to introduce the character with a small bio or jump directly into the story and introduce them as the story moves along?
What is the difference between an optimistic man and a blind one?

Reality is for those who lack imagination.

Those who beg for death are destined to live forever.

I see you. I know of your intentions. I'd ask you to leave but that wasn't in the cards.....so I'll ask you to die.

Haha. You know how to sum up the events in the wolfward/surge single RP in our emails in a few lines. Guess this'll be something new. I could contribute to the list greatly. My list of mythological creatures is at your disposal. Also, you have "Physics" on there. Is this meant to be Psychics? Physics is gravity and that, so I just thought it might be a typo. If that's the case, that's what i'll be. if Not, i'm going for a ghost.

Oh man . I was gonna be a shadow folk but that's essentially the same thing as a ghost.

Sorry to butt in, but a shadow folk should actually be different from a ghost, as a ghost is the disembodied spirit(or whatever) of a person that was separated from their body at death. A Shadow Folk on the other hand is likely still alive, or wasn't alive to begin with. So, they probably occupy different niches, as a ghost might make a perfect spy but might be near entirely helpless to affect the material world, while a shadow folk is able to affect the material world but cannot enter areas where shadows do not exist(such as absolute darkness), or something. That's just the most common types I've seen.

Reminds me of "the people of the shadows" in another one of my RPs outside this website.

Good point Wingman, but I thought a ghost was the one who could affect the material world while the shadow folk only cause emotions in those that see them (i.e.:dread)

Feel free to hop in anytime, with or without a bio. It's informal, so they're aren't many overly strict rules....And I don't know if shadow people apply as I've never really heard of them before.

My senses pick up a strange scent. What is that? I asked myself. What?! A human scent Here? What would they want, here of all places? I knew where the human was, and I quietly made my way behind him. Not knowing if he was completely human or not, I let out a whelp of pain, trying to lure him into a false sense of security.

After hearing a painful whelp, I was able to pinpoint the location, thanks to my psychic abilities. I shined the torch in that direction, so I could get a better look at what made the sound. I saw part of it, hidden in a bush, but it showed no signs of injury. I stepped forward with caution. If the sound I heard came from this, then it wanted me unprepared, so I had to be ready.

He was coming forward, but not as fast as I thought he would have. I jumped at him suddenly, catching him off guard and knocking him to the ground. While holding him down I ask him:"Who are you?"

Name: Damien Verana
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Class: Werewolf ((a little cliche for this forum, I know))
Appearance: Human-Tall but not gangly. Auburn, brown hair. Hazel eyes. Slightly tanned skin.
Werewolf- Maroon fur. About 1/3 times larger than human form. Golden eyes.
Biography:
Born with a common life of lycanthropy but grew up as a rather eccentric person. He enjoyed laughing at things that were never meant to be funny and was interested in topics that were typically considered cynical always with a smile on his face. This by no means made him simple-minded. He observed things that people had no idea about with a sort of odd curiosity.
Even with this keen observational talent, it didn't stop many from thinking Damien insane. Eventually, he was exiled from his pack for being considered a threat of exposure

As I watched the conflict from below my treetop seat, I couldn't help but laugh the slightest bit, quickly covering my mouth with both of my hands. "Oops!" I said, still smiling as broadly as ever. "I apologize.....please.........continue". I had managed to calm down enough to shut up for the time being.

I growled in annoyance, I hated it when people tried to play games with me. "Don't try to fool me,human, give me a reason not rip your throat out and drag your carsass all through the forest! Because if you're planning to lead some kind of group into my forest to kill me, then I'm afraid you won't be around to find out if they suceed!"

I was trapped. I saw it in his eyes. He wasn't bluffing. I had to be careful with my words. "I am not here to hurt you, but to find people like myself, or creatures like you.

"If I may interject....." I said, smiling all the while. "How effective do you think his 'group of killers' could be if the leader of the group was a trash-talking cripple with no weapon to speak of?"

That wolf is going to get himself killed if he stays so rash.

I snickered again.

((remember how I said he was good at observations?
By the way, it's a little inconvenient to keep saying he is smiling; he's almost always going to be smiling anyway so it'd be easier to just say when he frowns))

Looking up at the newcomer I got a shock at his his arrival. So much so, that I jumped off of the human I had been pinning and bolted for away s fast as my legs could carry me. Where have these humans come from? What do they want fro me?! I didn't know, I just wanted to be alone now. I didn't want to be shy and weak, but trying to play an experienced werewolf was something I couldn't do. I was still a newborn after only being bitten and abandoned but a week ago.

I scrambled away the second he was off me, and recovered my torch. If I continued the way I had, I wouldn't survive with these wolfmen for long at all. I'd have to be a bit more cautious.

Thinking I might as well stick around to see how these two acted, I turned around. Being careful so as to not arouse their attention too much.

"Well," I started, turning toward the human. "I suppose the question of what you're doing here had been answered. You said you wish to find people like yourself. Is there a reason?"

"And you," I said, turning toward the other, clearly a newborn by the looks of him. His eyes seemed to widen the slightest bit as I acknowledged him. "might I ask where your path leads?"

The question was one easy to answer. I knew there was only one reason for doing this, and I would shout it to the ends of the Earth if I had to. "I am an outcast, different from other people, never fully understood or appreciated. I want to find others who are also this way, so I can be with people with a common problem."

I tilted my head to look at the newcomer and then said,"I..." I stopped. I wanted these men gone. I didn't want more people looking at me the way they used to when I was human. I growled loudly in anger.

"Young one, your anger is wasted here." I said, slightly accusive, still smiling. "Clearly, no one is here to harm you. What purpose would that serve? To hate for the sake of hating?" I paused, attempting to ease my voice. "While I don't understand the complex of a bitten werewolf (as I am, in fact a born one), we are undoubtedly the same. In a sense, we are.... brothers of a sort if you choose to think of it that way."

((EDIT:))
"But," I continued. "If you choose to percieve me differently, I won't challenge your perception..........and as for you." I said smiling at the other. "Does this joining of, dare I say, a pack, have a purpose? A goal aside from simple friendship? Personally I don't care either way but I believe some prior knowledge must be asked."
