Are there playable werewolves in Dragon Age: Origins? Yes!

Gaze in awe and wonder! >.>

I admit, it was a bit hackish, as I had to use the toolset for it, and followed a guide, but now I'm playing a werewolf, and it is rather glorious.

The really funny part of all this though, and this frequently adds hilarity to the game, is that the werewolf character appears in all cinematic cutscenes. So there are people being jovial, happy, and rather civilised with a huge, feral creature.

I wholeheartedly approve of this.

Moreover, I'm going to try to get my character into one of the in-game romances. If I manage, there'll be screenshots, if there's incredibly humorous werewolf sex, there will definitely be screenshots.

Alas, I only have Dragon Age: Origins for the PS3, so I can't be a werewolf, HOWEVER, if you are a mage, you can learn shapeshifting, of which I did. I can turn into a gaint spider, a bear, or a swarm of wasps. :p

I HEART Morrigan! :p She has to be the greatest character ever concieved! :)

It would be cool if they add a "being able to turn into a werewolf" update for DLC.

It actually does a bit, except for the ears, the spots and... well, it looks somewhere between a Wolf and a Hyena, I'll admit that at least.

That's fine though, because I really dig hyenas, too.

Plus, they run on all fours, which is a massive bonus for me. All good werewolves should move on all fours! >.>

Wolfyena!

I saw my roomate play through the bit with the werewolves and was all like "YES!" when they stopped and started talking and calling out the elves on stuff (but, playing an elf, my roomate didn't much listen and things got violent, poor wuffs, :( ).

Nice to see people have put the capabilities of computers to good use in making the werewolf playable. :D

So how's it effect equipping stuff? Does it go on invisibly? Not at all? Clip through you?

Man, I was planning on getting this. You guys keep giving me more reasons.

@Aki

You get all the effects of weapons and armour, but it's invisible.

Also, I've made a mod (proper one too, that uses the dazip format for proper installation and everything) that changes the behaviour of Wolves and Bears, too, so they're actually friendly.

Having to put down some 17 Wolves was really upsetting for me, I couldn't do it. Yes yes, I know, big wuss. But... have modding toolset, will use, did use. >.> And after some extensive testing, it hasn't broken anything.

And if you absolutely have to kill Wolves/Bears, then they are still vulnerable, they just don't attack you unless you attack first.

Gotta find a way to do that to my Dalish Elf, Archer Werewolf, ROFL!

Sweet! Does it play the animations (like, swinging an invisible sword)? Or do you get claw animations? :D

Also yeah, I always fond the trope of ALWAYS VIOLENT WILDLIFE to be annoying in RPGs. Oblivion was really bad about it.Wolves in Oblivion were almost as annoying as the Cliff Racers were in Morrowind.

Don't really have any wildlife in DA:O, at least not past the Korcari Wilds.

Although Shale(Shayle) is set on killing ever bird in the world.
