Correct about my ones. A hard candy with a chewy center?
Therian(The Animal Inside)
Why do people say they care?
And never ask of your despair?
Why do people say they know?
Then off the cliff and down they go.
Why do people think they're glad?
When deep down inside they're truely sad?
Why am I the only one who sees?
I guess that no one else believes.

Re: Riddle Contest
As I was going over Westminister Bridge,
I met with a Westminister scholar;
He pulled off his cap and drew off his glove,
And wished me a very good morrow.
What was his name?
All over the hills and back home at night,
Sits under the bed and gapes for bones.
It can run and it can walk.
It has a tongue but cannot talk.
Hands full,
House full,
Still can't catch a spoonful.
There is a little animal.
It's name is Maureli,
It has nine skins,
And bites everybody.
It goes all over hills and plains
But when it comes to a river, it breaks its neck.
When is a fox a fox?
Round as a ring,
As deep as the spring
And all the king's horses
Couldn't pull it up.

Reality is for those who lack imagination.
Those who beg for death are destined to live forever.
I see you. I know of your intentions. I'd ask you to leave but that wasn't in the cards.....so I'll ask you to die.

Re: Riddle Contest
The first one is correct.
Though, you have the right idea on the third one.
By the way, if you wouldn't mind, I'll tell you the source after the riddles are all answered to help prevent cheating.

Re: Riddle Contest
Might As well say them now:
#1: Andrew
#2: Shoes
#3: Smoke
#4: An onion
#5: A path
#6: When it is alone (when it's not, it's "foxes")
#7: A well
My source was a book called Folklore in America by Tristram Potter Coffin and Hennig Cohen.
(A word of warning: the book was made in the 1960s and there are a few rather prejudaced remarks)
In response to lykoi's riddle, I believe it's a mirror.

Well, since, I already told my source, I guess someone else can say their riddle. I'll think of one later.

Re: Riddle Contest
You are traveling down a road when it comes to a fork
one path leads to your destination, the town of truths
the other leads to the land of lies
a man is standing at the fork and you decide to ask him where to go
you ask him, "Are you from the town of truths?"
to which he replies, "Yes!"
but you soon realise that if he is from the land of lies
he could be a liar and point you in the wrong direction
you ask him, "Are you from the land of lies?"
he replies, "No!"
again, he could simply be trying to trick you
how do you solve this conundrum?

Life is the ultimate puzzle,
solving it is what gives it purpose,
purpose is what makes us whole,
and though it may be the most complicated puzzle of all,
it's solution is well worth the effort.

Re: Riddle Contest
First you must emphasize that everyone from the town of truth always tells the truth, and that the land of liars people always lie, otherwise it is impossible.
Ask him to take you to his village.
If he is truthful, he will take you to the town of truth. If he is a liar, he will take you to the town of truth as well, since that constitues a lie, if he is from the land of liars.
