I just got back from Dragon*Con less than a week ago, and I discovered a group that has been performing regularly there for several years: Cruxshadows. They're a modern Goth band who have been taking the dance music by storm, even taking the number one spot on the Billboard charts, ousting Lady Gaga. A Goth band actually on the charts!
I did get to know one album of theirs last year, and this is the song I came to know first. Here's a live track, so you can see what the band looks like in person:
"Tears" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-ZNe8FSwrY
And to show that they are great at doing music videos, too, here's:
"Edge of the World" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbxqVNdccHM
And one of my favorite songs right now:

Re: Cruxshadows
Man, you're behind the wave of the future. I've been listening to Cruxshadows for years and I'm not even in the goth scene. However I really only have heard a few of their songs: Deception, Monument, Last Breath, Binary, Tears, and Winterborn with any degree of regularity. All of which are worth a listen. Have not heard any of their new stuff though.
At the same time, I feel I should mention Voltaire(Link to his song When You're Evil) and Abney Park(url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cycXIYdFGsQ]Sleep Isabella, and Herr Drosselmeyer's Doll, and Stigmata Martyr as it has good quality so you can actually hear what he's saying) as they are all appealing and perform at conventions.
Oh wow, Rogue's hair has become even more awesome. Pretty soon it'll start consuming the other bandmembers.

Can't say that I like this music, but I did go to Dragon*Con. Man it was packed this year!

Re: Cruxshadows
If you've been to Dragon*Con, then you may remember this Cruxshadows song, which I had stuck in my head throughout Saturday and part of Sunday:
"Immortal": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcqEZapjf7g
And, yes, I'm a big fan of Abney Park. I followed them back in the mp3.com days, back when Steampunk was a GURPS suppliment and Abney Park's artwork focused on faeries and graveyards. They've certainly evolved their sound and look a lot.
"Airship Pirates" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WrPWFn7e2c
And, Abney Park will have a new album out October 15th!

I'm not really that much into gothic/electro music. Usually when I listnen to electronic music, its over-the-top industrial like Nine Inch Nails. I can even appreciate Rammstein, aside from being very overrated.
To give an example of some good electronic music that I enjoy:
Ophidian - Angel

Ophidian - Butterfly VIP

This is a Dutch hardcore-techno artist. I plead you to listen through the harsh basskick, because it builds up to a very well-composed, well-played and melodic techno-song. If you can appreciate this, give me a reply, then I'll give you some more simular artists.
