I need a name!

I originally chose the name I'm using now,which is my actual name, becasue I couldn't think of anything and wanted to join as soon as I found this site. Well, it's no fun using my real name everywhere so I want a good alias
Any ideas?

Tell us more about yourself. If we don't know much about you, we can't help much. Tell us about your wereside, your personality, interests, etc.

Or, you can just do what I did and borrow a few letters or a syllable from each of your three names. Now, mix them together until they sound cool and think of a different phonetic spelling for the name you have invented.

Example:
Rebel
Lenore
Fornea (pronounced 'ay')

Put them together = Renoreea (huh?)
Change the spelling a bit = Renorei (Cool!!)

Also, avoid picking a boring, overused name. I won't use any specific examples because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But, if you decide to use your new alias at other websites, but you have a really common alias, then you'll often find that your alias is already taken. Ultimately, I would suggest picking something that is highly unique to you, not something generic that sounds pretty.

You know i always liked the name Bobo The Wonder Monkey, or Samson the Weremoose...OF DOOOM.

You could also do what I do with a lot of the characters in my book and go with an anagram. For example:

Rintessi [spoiler]Sinister[/spoiler]
Brad Statfa [spoiler]Fat Bastard[/spoiler]
Henry Aicher, D.C. [spoiler]Richard Cheney[/spoiler]

It's easy. Just pick a word with four syllables that describes you, then use your imagination and go hogwild.

My nickname means 'powerfull wolf'. Maybe you should try typing some words in a (free) translation-program on the net. That should make some nice nicknames.

Or, if you can't figure out anything else, just pick a name from your favourite books.

It may not be the most original name, but if someone else has read that book, he/she may know something of where your name has come, and what it means.

I like Renorei's idea, I'll have to see how that works out. I really like the one-word names, they flow so well in conversation and look cool too.
Names form books and things like that are always good too. I'll see what I come up with

Also, I'd like to add that you should avoid using your specie name in your title. This is actually more of a personal preference of mine, but I tend to prefer it when someone uses an actual name.

For example...say your wereside is a panther and you like playing cards. A person who didn't give it much thought might simply go with something like "Poker Panther". Whereas, if someone gave it a bit more thought, they could have came up with something like "Blackjack". This is actually a stellar example because it alludes to your phenotype's color without blatantly declaring your wereside, and makes clear your interest in cards. By avoiding mentioning your animal in your name, you are also being a lot more original. I can't tell you how often I see someone with a name like "_______wolf".

EDIT: You might want to do a bit of research as well. For example, pretend your character doesn't like wolves. Well, the scientific name for Wolfsbane is aconitum. You could alter this a bit and come up with something cool-sounding like "Aconitus" or "Aconus". A good example of a name like this would be Vilkacis's name. It's a lot more original than simply "Werewolf", but it means roughly the same thing, in Latvian mythology.

I say just pick a name that you see fit to your or your characters personality and do what Reronei said, try not to use a really overused name but if you really want to then its ok. Lol you be suprised how little Shadow Wulf is used by I picked that as I see fit to me, sesne before I liked to keep certain dark things a secret in other words in the shadows, and then my friends used the name Shadow Dawg and I liked, and then i realised sense I love wolves so much, and I thought it was clever how my friend made his name, I just came up with the name Shadow Wulf. And serously I did not know wulf was even a real word, I just made it up in my head. Anyway you can do what I did and mix whatever inspires you with something about you.

Speaking of that...that reminds me of something I read in my marketing book. Apparently this U.S. company wanted to sell their product in Germany. But they didn't doublecheck how the name would translate first, and just kept using their old name. Little did they know the product name, in German, meant something to the effect of "Dung Mist".

I totally agree. I've gotten a whole lot more help here than I expected. I guess I'm just completely uncreative or something.

I've got a few ideas of my own now too. I'll see what I can come up with.
