Casanova

Really good movie. It's not getting enough publicity so there were only five people at the showing I went to, on the weekend no less!

Heath ("I can't hold me ale!!!") Ledger, Jeremy Irons, strong and sharp-as-a-tack female lead, forget the actresses' name offhand.

Don't let the R rating scare you. It's a really soft and friendly R, basically a PG-13 with pervasive sexually-oriented patter, some seriously yummilicious tongue kisses and a couple very cleverly-filmed bedroom shots. If they didn't have sex in a movie like this the filmmakers would have lost my respect and I'd accuse them of chickening out. I'm just sorry they didn't include the angle that Casanova practiced safer sex (he had a nice re-usable silk condom with ribbons).

And yes, there's some swashbuckling, too. Gotta have that in a romantic movie.

Anyway...go see it, especially if you like classical music. The soundtrack is crawling with it. Bring your significant other and don't spare the chocolate cherries.
