The Hills Have Eyes

Post by Shock To The System »

Ok, I'm new to the board so drop me a message if you like. I was just wondering, has anyone seen the remake of The Hills Have Eyes yet? Or maybe the original version? I would like opinions on how the movie was. And if anyone wants to know what it's about, go here. :o http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454841/

And I also heard an interesting rumor that it's based off of a true story from Scotland. ??

I know this is a bit off topic, but I heard during a program about the making of WoO that the fact that some guy hung himself during the forest scene was an urban ledgend.

the true story behind the Hills have eyes is the same as the Texas Chainsaw.
both are based on people disappearing without a trace and from there the legend is born.
but the on thing the Texas Chainsaw has that others do not is that there really was a family that was involved. its hard to find among all the muck due to the films. but all they know is that there were dozens of human remains found in a house that had been empty for years.

that and its something fun to talk about around the campfire.
you never know just how you look through other peoples' eyes.

The story I heard was about a couple who wanted to disappear from society, so they found a cave to live in. They would trap and kill people who happened to wander too close. From the money they got from the victims, they would make occasional trips into town for provisions. They had children, and it became a big inbreeding family. So the family would work together to trap people, but they eventually couldn't afford the food in town from there being too many of them. So they got the corpses together and ate those. Eventually, the queen (I think. It could have been the king) sent about 400 troops to eliminate the family. So it was kind of like a mix of Texas Chainsaw, Wrong Turn, and The Hills Have Eyes.

I didn't know that The Hills Have Eyes was a remake. But anyway, I saw it today. It's the first scary movie to actually scare me in a long tim. It was really good. I would give a thorough review, but I'm lazy. Just go see it, but for those of you that are wary of blood and gore, steer clear of this one.

I didn't see the original but I know the bald/weird-eyed guy from it. He's actually a real funny and cool guy.

Good movie, eh? I've heard that from several sources. [Marking "The Hills Have Eyes" under "Nanny McPhee" on my "Movies to Check Out" list]

Edit: Errrrr, scratch that. 'S got a rape scene. No. No. Life's too short and too good for that, even in a fictitious scenario.

Well, I saw 'The Hills Have Eyes' tonight.

It did not scare me
Lacked cleverness
There were long stretches that I found really boring.
But I did find things to laugh at..

I guess that malformed people are really just malformed people.

Otherwise it sort of felt like a wasted evening.

Oh well, it felt nice, in a useless way, to waste an evening.
The change, does it wrack the bones and rend the flesh ? Yes, indeed it does. But is this pain and agony alone ? No, in fact hardly at all. It is the Sacrament of the Moon. The flesh flows and so do the endorphins. It is, in truth, the agony ecstatic; The Pain That Is Pleasure
