Nope. With selective breeding and/or the right environment, they really can grow that big.
My best guess is that the rabbit in question is an escapee from a breeder. While I have seen more than a handful of rabbits that size in captivity, I'm having a hard time picturing one growing that big in the wild, especially in strip-mined-to-[BLEEP!] England.

Let's just hope that it does not acquire a taste for human flesh.....
I can imagine it.

"Oh please, there's no such things. It's just another tale that they tell to ki.." *GWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH* *TAKEITOFFTAKEITOFFTAKEITOFF* *burp*

Hogzillaaaaaaaaaa!
You don't need to genetically modify something for it to grow that big. Around here (well ok, it was in Gerogia) some guy shot a pig that was absolutely huge. It was a wild hog/domestic pig mix that was living off very high calorie food from a catfish farm. There was no human involvement at all in its life, just the combination of wild and domestic genes with a diet of fish food was enough to make it grow that large.Kirk Hammett wrote:I cant believe that rabbit is real eh. The rabbit pictured there is just a large Rex. That breed gets the largest out of all the domesticated rabbits. (At least according to the breeder we bought ours from. They make good pets too and are really soft and snuggly, live a long time, and are just cute. Ours lived 8 years O_o )
One thing that you must take into consideration however, is the way the shot was done. Look at the size of the man's fist holding the rabbit by the scruff; they merely superimposed the rabbit in the shot. Once you take that into consideration, you are left with a rabbit that, while still large, does not go from the waist to a person's head.
