Man, I can't wait for Burning Man. There'll be a waxing moon this year and the evening is always heralded by a running citywide howl at moonrise and you haven't heard a howling until you hear 32,000 humans do it in a travelling wave along a 3.5-mile crescent...
There'll be a waxing gibbous rising behind the Man on Burn Night and I hope to get a picture of that.

But, I bet you could easily ace almost all of us on little-known German words, given that most of us don't know the commonly used ones.
How about unusual words in your native language, and what they mean in English? I'm sure there's some pretty colorful ways of describing things once you get out of the bottleneck of just the cultures that speak primarily English. That goes for anyone else here whose main cerebral operating system is something else besides the language you're reading right now.
Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...
