My decision to go has now changed from "yes" to "maybe". Due to additional bills, my budget may not allow me to make the 700 mile trip this year. Travel is still... very expensive. If I can manage to reduce the cost of a car trip (gas/food), it may still happen. Flying to Texas is out of the question. If money is going to be this tight, it may be wise to rule out the possibility of going. We'll see where the money situation goes, and my final decision will be made around April.
On the positive side, the summer semester of college would start the day I get back to New Mexico. Close timeing indeed. I wouldn't have to risk missing any classes.
So many of us are getting stuck with the no-go, it sucks.

Joker: See you there!
PariahPoet and husband: so glad you're both coming!
Fig: Fingers crossed... Hope you can make it after all. Cathey and I were so disappointed at the prospect of your not being there.

No worries. I didn't back out
entirely yet. I may have a much slimmer chance than Fig though. I'm waiting to see how much I have the month before the convention. Lets wait and see how big my tax refund is.

Well Fig- at least you've eliminated one possible complication. Now we just have to hope that you can do a bit of maneuvering with your work schedule.
It wouldn't seem right to hang out with our old group with Daniel, Joker, Short Tail, Scott, Cathey, ShadowSaber, Tony, and Silver without you!

plane crap?
Yuck...and I thought pigeons was bad enough.
Once I start with Exxon, I'll know exactly whats going on.
I can't pass up this chance to work for that company. I'll get more $ and better benefits.
You see....some jobs make you wait one year before you can even take a vacation. With Exxon.....I should have a few days so I can go. But right now...I think the days I need is already taken by another driver.
I'm hoping A-kon falls on my day off. That or I trade vacation days with the other driver. I just have to wait and see.

I suggest if your going to be flying use Southwest. Southwest always has great deals. ATM though they don't have flights for June yet, but next month near the very beginning I am sure they will. I always use Southwest so that's why I suggested it

How far are you flying Silverclaw? Joker is indeed correct that plane tickets are cheaper with Southwest. $300 for a two way flight is cheap, but still a lot of money to us part-timers. Driving is still about $160 in gas money for state to state trips, so still more affordable, but really really long.
Ah well. Rather than beg for donations, I'll take the cost efficiant route if I can.

It prollie wouldn't be 300 Kaebora...It is if you wait to the last min like I did last year..

All the flights I ever see going to Dallas are pretty damn cheap. If you can find one now, well when the sale comes up for the next few months I saggest grabbin it immeditly cause alot of people use Southwest airlines an they will buy em up fast
