Went to Burgerville earlier tonight. It's a NW chain that's exceptionally good; they use Tillamook cheddar and thick-sliced pepper bacon on their bacon-cheeseburgers.
Want halibut fish 'n chips? They gotcha covered.
They also have shake-of-the-month, this month's is chocolate hazelnut. And they aren't kidding when they say hazelnut, it was like Frangelico without the kick. They also have a huckleberry shake which is too good for mortals. They use locally-grown beef, free range chicken, fish from the coast and locally-grown veggies. You can even opt for Yukon Gold potatoes for your fries.
So that was dinner. Tonight, I gave the liquid Jell-O a miss and I'm having hot cocoa instead. Can NEVER have enough chocolate...

Six-Hour Mushroom-Barley-Beef-Veggie soup (Slo-Cookers are so nice) and Cheddar sammiches (black wax cheddar, btw-found a place that carries it).
Nasty weather here, appropriate food.

Oooohhh, this weekend I went to the horse Expo and ate overpriced middle-American CRAP! French bread Hawaiian pizza, thin clam chowder, donuts, crackers and caramel popcorn (small was $5!

). The best thing I had all weekend was an orange and I shared that with a sweet young Friesian gelding that was flirting with me. No wonder my whole body ached and all my joints creaked and groaned by Sunday evening.
Today wasn't a whole lot better. I had oatmeal for breakfast and granola bars for lunch. Too late for dinner, was too busy writing so I skipped that. Bad, I know.
I'll make up for it tomorrow. Plum-orange-strawberry smoothie for breakfast, honey-and-jam sandwich for lunch, and baked petrale sole in a cashew-flax-cornmeal crust with confetti pepper slow-cooker rice in chicken broth for dinner.
Some good news...I picked up a maple butcher block with a drawer full of knives, kitchen shears and a carving fork for $20 at the Sportsman's Guide site, shipping included. It's taken a pride-of-place position next to my range where I can easily access it.

Nothing on the plate at the moment, but I have $5 in my pocket and I'm about to go to the store. I'm thinking either turkey leg or salmon fillet and serve it with garlic-saffron smash red potatoes and a berry smoothie.
Wanna hear about last night's? Fettucine alfredo with Dover sole and Sprinz cheese.
