OOC:Hey um, can we keep the sword thing going, I kinda like where its headed. Can we act like we don't notice it till some huge event, otherwise, this just feels too, well, short.

Fang stood up and moved to the front of the vehicle, pulled the dead body to the back and then sat in the passenger seat.

"So whats the plan?" he asked letting out a sigh.

He looked over to Zan and back to the wondering what Zan would do,then he leaned back in his seat.

I plan on keeping the sword going. Wolfward has noticed it influencing Hal, but he has no chance of stopping it. The weapon was forged by Surge with a strong purpose, magically enhanced to prevent it from breaking, and because it has his own mind, it makes it much more powerful when defending itself. Surge is on his way, and is hurrying because he knows Wolfward, what he is likely to try and do, and how dangerous it would be.

OOC: Question: as I'm the one who actually started this evil sword sub-plot, shall I continue to play the part of the sword even when Hal may not be the subject of the post, or did you have something else in mind?

As Gredo followed Surge, he started to smell the others. Werewolves?he thought curiously. This day is becoming increasingly interesting. Then his curiosity started to change into bewilderment as he neared the others.
"Wolfward?" he asked himself.

(blackwolfhell, you are right, he will continue it, but in some cases I will control it, either to make sure the plot doesn't go too far in a direction.)

Surge turned back and looked at Gredo. "Did you say something?" Surge kept up his speed, with no intent of slowing and stopping.

Gredo looked up and smiled. "Nothing of importance at the moment."

Zan shrugged and pushed the steering wheel forward, causing the vehicle to begin moving. Within seconds, he was messing with the controls on the overhead mainframe, causing the vehicle to react with a strange jolt-like motion. He looked to Fang.

"As of right now, I don't have that great of a plan. When we arrive in Bloodoak, I'll let the others know I'm going to help the werewolves. From there, we'll meet up with Dusten somehow." He sighed. "And besides, the town needs to be evacuated. Soon the HR will return with a fresh army of recruits and destroy it."

He returned his attention to the screen ahead of him and nodded. An explosion lit up the sky, nearly blinding him. The HR was already retaliating. The screen returned to normal, revealing a small sign up ahead with the words 'Bloodoak: 4 miles' on it. Just four miles sat between his home and the approaching HR strike force. Either he succeded now or failed forever.

He reached for a small green button on the dashboard and pushed it, causing the vehicle to speed up. A loud roar began building from the large door of the troop compartment.

"Warning, hull armor depleting. Emergency accelerator activated," the robotic voice spoke. "Exercise caution."

Zan looked back to Fang.

"So you must have a reason to be out here, away from the werewolf territory, right? What's your story?" he spoke.

Dusten saw the Human troops closing in on Zan's vehicle. Now was the time for him to act. From the roof of the building, Dusten put on some goggles over his eye and bandage, and pulled out his guns. "Now it is time to disable some vehicles." He opened fire, aiming for the bottom of the HR's numerous vehicles, and the legs of the infantry. He hit is target every time.

Wolfward replies in a still hostile tone, "The sword that blade found is evil. I'd rather destroy it than have it control Hal."

"Don't engage it. I thought it's power was demonic, and you have no chance. Wait for me to get there."

"Fine..."Wolfward says impatiently, he didn't want the sword to be anywhere near him or his brothers. Switching to talk to Hal again he says to him,"Hal, is there anything I can get you? Are you hungry? Thirsty? Or should I leave yo alone?"The sight of the wolf being so scared and controlled really saddened him, as he hate to see his brothers, whether animal or not, so unhappy.

Surge reached the end of his journey back with Gredo to Wolfward, and were directly outside. "Here we are, Gredo. This is our current destination." Without giving Gredo time to respond, Surge carried on in.

The wretched creature merely whined and avoided Wolfward's gaze. He was a study in irony: physically powerful, he might have been impressive were he not in a state of perpetual misery.

And deep in his mind, where no one else could hear, the voice of the sword sliced his spirit, as a butcher carves thin slices from a roast hog. Grovel, pet. You cannot be saved. Make your life a sacrifice to me.

Hal peeked out from under his clasped fingers, one dull yellow eye transfixed by the sight of the evil blade. It seemed to fill his vision, nay his every thought. It was all.

Deep in a black crevice where the remnants of his higher consciousness dwelt, Hal Applegate screamed and gibbered.

Surge shouted back to Gredo. "They're inside! Well, most of them. Hurry!"

Wolfward put his paw on Hal's forehead. As he did a calmness entered Hal and his mind forgot his pain and misery, remembering his freedom as a werewolf. A voice calls to him in his mind,"Your pack will always be there for you, for we are brothers together and throughout all the tragedies that may happen in ths world. I love you as a brother as I do all the wolves of the world, that's my duty and honor as the leader of the Lycans of this galaxy. Now please let us help you, and stop hating and regretting. Start loving and cherishing;hear the voices of the ones that care for you. Please, I'll always be there for you, as well as Tor and Fenris, the gods the created us and gives us hope in times of need. Please, remember...." Wolfward felt for the creature, and loved it as a brother. I wonder what happend to him, what is his name? I wondered.

Blade was annoyed, so he shifted into full wolf form. Hal, were here for you, no matter what, it's gonna be alright.

As Blade and Wolfward made their efforts to calm Hal, they felt his spirit: a poor, wretched and small thing; a mote of brightness submerged in tar and brackish water. But they found it was easy to add their energies and make the flame glow a little brighter despite the cloying foulness.

But before long, they felt the connection. A link to something Outside: a power that seemed to regard their ministrations with derision and contempt.

With a shock that jolted them from their flesh to their souls, their minds were hurled back with the force of a hurricane. A wall of hellfire sprang between them all, obscuring the pitiful dot that was the geist of Hal Applegate.

He is MINE!! The voice was terrible, filthy, corrupting to hear, its infectious touch bringing mental disease, rot, and dissolution.

MINE!!

With a hot wind that seemed to come from the bottomless pit itself, Wolfward and Blade were sent sprawling away from Hal's spirit. They returned to the physical world with a sense that they had all been hideously violated.

Whatever had Hal in its grip, it was powerful. Malevolent. Sickening.

And before anyone could stop him, Hal sprang at the sword and impaled himself on it!!

"HOLY...!" Blade yelled and shiftedc back into werewolf form. Hal impaled himself through the the stomach! No, wait, it just missed his stomach. It was on his side. Blade saw blood drip down the side of his fur. Hal was wheezing and unconcious.

"Uh oh" Gredo said smelling the fresh blood leaking out of someone's body. Blood? Kane asked. he then forced Gredo to smell deeper. Blood. he said without question this time.

"God, what was the name?" Gredo asked himself. "Surge!"
he shouted. Surge had gotton a considerable distance in front of him.Surge turned his head slightly upon hearing his name. "I'll need to stay here a while. Someone in your group is bleeding..........and Kane's getting his appetite back."

Surge nodded. "Wait here. This is no ordinary wound I sense."

Surge Barged into the room, observing the chaos. He noticed Hal with the sword going through him, and grabbed the sword, and wrenched it out. He dropped it on the floor as fast as he could, and a blast of magic shattered the blade into oblivion. Surge returned to look at Hal. "The damage has already been done," Surge said, "The blade's dark and demonic energies have fused with Hal."

OOC: Sorry, but it was one of those moments where something out of the blue happens. I'll keep it clean.

Blade looked at the would. The blade stuck out of Hal's back, but away from his spine. 'Thank fenrir,' he thought.
