...why DOES anyone want to...I just don' get that. Smoking was never even REMOTELY cool to me. ...my mother smokes...many of my freinds smoke...
...did peer pressure make me want to smoke too? ...NO!... it just made me want to spend less time around my mother ( when she was puffing) and my freinds (...ditto).
...and I am so
sick and tired of that "It's my right...I can do whatever I want" line.
Choosing to smoke or not to smoke is not as insignificant to the people around you as smokers seem to convince themselves of.
#1- It makes you smell like *&^% , so you become a walking bubble of smoke spewing unpleasantness.
(It is
NOT you right to make everyone who happens to be in the place you decide to light up suck on YOUR poison. ...and what kind of arrogant *&^* thinks that "well...if you don't like it, then leave" is a valid,
fair solution? Non-Smokers have a right to be able to be in and enjoy those places too.)
#2- When you are coughing all the time because your lungs have been destroyed by the smoke and tar, it is not just
YOU that it is bugging.
(*sarcasm* oh yes....THANK YOU for making me listen to that...I
SO wanted to hear you couging up small chunks of your lungs while eating at that restaurant...*/sarcasm*)
#3- 1+2=... even if you don't get lung cancer...(or care if you do)... when your teeth turn a disgusting shade of yellow, and you are wheesing all the time, you look half dead and just gross. Anyone who cares about you will feel depressed just to look at you, and for good reason...since you are likely suffering, and no one likes to see thier freinds suffer.
...hmmm...a wheesing, smelly, unpleasant half-dead person. This is what all smokers become eventually. (I know because I see it everyday at work, as I am
forced to sell tobbaco products to customers at my job, and see every kind of them, from the new kids who just got old enough, to the old ladys and gentlemen with scratchy voices...and I've had to suffer through watching my mother gradually progress through the stages as her lungs get worse and worse every year, and yet, she does not stop.)
What horrible things this stuff does to people. Why do young boys and girls start on this stuff again? Oh yeah...to be "cool".
Ahhh...Now I s...no, wait...I still don't get it.
I understand that it is a horrible addiction which is incredibly difficult to stop once you start. (Peter Jennings actually managed to quit for many years...though it was too late...)
But why start? Seriously....
WHY?!
Anyone here, of any age, who is considering "just trying" any kind of Tobbacco product, (for
whatever BS reason you have for doing so),
for the love of all that is good and decent DONT!...
It's not cool, and it will NOT make you happy...never was, never has, never will...
...oh...and if it is"
your right" to pollute the air everywhere you go, and make me suffer your presence, then it is "
My Right" to give you
Hell about it any time you get near me...from now till the day you cough up your lungs and die.
...it's only fair...
(Count me as one of "SOME PEOPLE" who will get pissed off...)
