Nope. People will always be obsessed with acts of sex, sexual gratification, and arousal. Though mental disorder plays into a lot of these -- but some of them also are varying degrees of sexual oddity.

Part of the joy in being human is the fact of pleasure and by what means can it be obtained.

Some of them are just scarier than others.

Asphyxiophilia is nothing on the game of things.

Try Erotophonophilia - these people become aroused trying to kill someone. Not thoughts of it... the literal ACTION of trying to murder/murdering someone.

It's like a bad horror film.

Though this is a cases of sheer brutality and this is NOT the kind of sexual orientation you want to be deemed with, it's out there. There are others which are less over-powering, but they do exist as varying medical conditions. And these are rare conditions...

Necros aren't bad. Creepy as hell, but there aren't the worse. There are grosser things in this universe. If you start looking up some of those paraphilias, you'll find them. That's not even the tip of the ice berg.

Pedophiles, in my book, get the bad wrap. But in the culture we're raised things not of a declared 'sentient' age are taboo (be it animals or little kids). In some cultures it does not apply and we can psycho-analyze these things and deem them bad, but the honest thing is we're one perspective.

Hell, the Bonobo Chimpanzee, our closest genetic relitive, greets and reacts to each other, infant and of-old, with the usage of sex, not for breeding, but for saying, 'Hi!'. Now, we won't go into disease statistics here because I hate stats but it's also relative to understand culture puts up walls not just to define ourselves but to barrier ourselves. Some things that are naturally acceptable are completely shunned because they aren't valid with how we live. When you study Anthropology those lines start to get very fuzzy in areas when you can understand the difference between right and wrong and the PRECEPTION of right and wrong, sickest and healthiest, bad and good.

In this community, because this is the way we deem things are right, is not technically the -right- way to live. Just a sampling of a patterned, accepted way to live because we know no other way right now.

Now, if we apply this to the topic, think of what would happen if Akin got hounded as a Chester-The-Molester type...

Mom's everywhere would have lost their minds...

IMO, scatophiles win when it comes to overall grossness. There are certainly worse fetishes to have, but to me this is simply the nastiest.

Scatophilia - basically these are people who get turned on by poo...they often like to eat it, rub it on themselves, etc.
