I'll be like... errr. okey.
time to wake up now.
time to wake up now.
This is the home of united werewolf fans across the globe. Searching to improve the image of the werewolf in popular culture, known as... The Pack

It is an unfortunate fact that people are afraid of what they don't fully understand.Timber-WoIf wrote:i'd be cautious of the situation. it would be tempting to go out and seek it, but it could lead to nasty crisis. werewolves may end up facing nasty persicution
Why am I now suddenly getting visions of that guy from "Silence of the Lambs" and how he tried to build himself a "woman suit."Figarou wrote:Timber-WoIf wrote:i'd hope we all have greater dreams than being turned into werewolves
My dream is to be dept free.
But that'll never happen.
To 'Timber-WoIf'...I wholeheartedly agree. I certainly hope we all have more worthwhile dreams and asperations than just that. That might be cool (depending on the details), but it is hardly a Life-Fulfilling goal.Figarou wrote:My dream is to be dept free.Timber-WoIf wrote:i'd hope we all have greater dreams than being turned into werewolves

We should keep an eye on Figarou, especially now that he's planning to start a butterfly farm.

There is a difference between repeated expenses, and being "In Debt".Figarou wrote:I'm making house payments. Its going to take 30 years just to pay that off.
And then there is that school tax and property tax that'll never end. I ALWAYS have to keep paying for that.
Then there is the cable bill, phone bill, water bill and electric bill.
I also have car payments. Even if I pay off the car, I still have to put money into it. (Gas, licence, inspections, ETC)
So...is there a way to be TOTALLY debt free? No.
Unless I build a log cabin out in the woods and live off the land.
Mmm, Opportunity Cost.Vuldari wrote: Besides, If you lived in a cabin in the woods, with no taxes, you would still be paying for everything you had.

(Though as someone else mentioned, blowing all your spare cash on collectables, expensive convention weekend trips, and top-of-the-line home entertainment equiptment is NOT the way to do it. ...you will need to set your 'priorities' first...)

On the Main Topic...
I voted "NO WAY".
Even if it was on EVERY News station, and even if one of the supposed Lycanthropes shifted right in front of me, I would still be trying to figure out why they are going through all of this trouble to sustain this global hoax and conspiracy. I've seen too many convincing magic shows to trust my eyes that much any more. To some extent, I have to go on gut instinct, and the scenario you described just doesn't sound right somehow. ...I just don't see how that could be...
Untill I had the opportunity to cross reference the Lycanthropes secret history, with that which was allready known and recorded (accounting for the fact that I allready know that much of recorded history is either altered, misremembered or completely false)...and untill I was able to review and understand the science and biological processes that allow them to do what they do, I would Not be convinced.
If they had really been around all this time, reguardless of how well they kept themselves hidden, I'm sure more people would have noticed by now. At the very least, the global mythology would at least be somewhat more consistant in its details than it is. Plus...our current perception of what a werewolf is really does not have that much in common with how they were known back in the early legends.
...with the exeption of the loosely related "Kitsune" (Which really are not Werewolves at all, but Supernatural Shapeshifting spirits), I can't think of any legends whatsoever that described the creatures in a way to suggest that they were thier own species, or race...but rather a Condition that was imposed upon normal mortal men and women, by some force or another.
Outside of Fan-Fiction...I've never heard of a "Werewolf PACK" either...
It just doesn't add up enough for me to accept it as you presented it.
Even if, after reviewing the evidence myself, I concluded that they really were physically legit...I would still be skeptical of the origins, and would continue to 'read between the lines' and discover the TRUTH behind them.
(That is not to say that I neccesarily would assume that they have "EVIL" intentions...merely that the facts are being hidden and muddled for some reason, and I would want to know Why.)
...IF, (Going against all of my instincts and Logic) after at least a few years of careful research and consideration, I concluded that all was well enough, and I believed and trusted them, I still doubt I would be overly eager to Join Them.
In spite of the truth that "SHAPESHIFTING" is the greatest of my fanciful fantasies, and that Wolves are one of my favorite animals, my body is a Sacred thing to me, and anything that is done to it happens on MY TERMS, or it does not happen at all. (So long as it can be helped)
More likely, I would research, or at least invest in ways to Learn from them, ways to improve myself, (physically, spiritually and culturally) by seeing what they do better, and also what ways I may allready be better off as I am. I imagine the revelation of Lycanthropy to the scientific community would inspire a whole new field of medical research based upon the mechancs of the Lycanthropic body...
...not curing or treating conditions by making someone a Lycanthrope, but actually reverse-engeneering and mimicing Lycanthrope biology for the purposes of Physical reconstruction to correct birth defects, and crippling injuries...as well as possibly curing some cancers and diseases if lycanthropy provides unique resistance to these things.
"BITE ME!"?...not quite...
...but if it happened anyway, I'm sure I probobly wouldn't have too much trouble learning to live with it.

You just killed 99% of all movie werewolves.Fang wrote:Well I think at least having some base guidelines would be a must
1. Fur (No bald rat things)

Why do you really need a tail, honestly, just because a werewolf doesn't have a tail won't make a single difference, its just an add on.Fang wrote:Well I think at least having some base guidelines would be a must

Non sense, you can never be TOO original. It's always good to have completly new ideas for other people to get their concept off of.Vuldari wrote:On the contrary...werewolves that look like anorexic rats, mad pigs, and black leather skinned cat-people (instead of "Wolves") are TOO original.Fang wrote:Well Hollwood can bite my A$$, it's too unoriginal nowdays.
A little more faithfulness might be nice.
