I am decidedly left-handed. My mother is, and so is my wife Cathey. Since my wife and I are both lefties, we have a left-handed household, which is nice.
I guess one nice thing about tablet PCs is that I don't get digital ink all over the back of my hand as I write. Picking up camcorders at Best Buy can be a bit annoying, though. And, technology has grandfathered me into one right-handed task; I'm used to mousing with my right hand, because the first few times I used a mouse (old Macs and DOS or Windows 2.0 to 3.0 based machines), the mouse was to the right of the keyboard. But, I draw and write left-handed, as do I most one-handed tasks.

Taking a Gestalt approach, since it's the "in" thing...

I also taught myself, but I asked various people, some genetics and evolution lecturers and other subjects at Uni, did some net research, and it seems that if you can do it, it's actually genetic! Not all people utilise the skill from when they are born as teachers make you use only your right usually.In_Cruce_Salus wrote:I chose the "both hands" option. I write best with my right hand (I can, however, also write with my left), but I can do skill related things (swordplay, shooting, anything involving something other than clumsiness) better with my left. My hands have different skills.
However, most of my "ambidexterity" is due to personal practice. I can write with my left because of school...My right hand frequently cramps and curls into a claw-like appendage in the middle of long tests, so I end up having to use my left hand.
Heh...this one time during the whole standardized testing thing, my right hand stopped working almost entirely. The index finger swelled at the joints and the rest of the fingers curled in on themselves. I had to write the last essay with my left hand. I pulled a DaVinci there. The essay was written backwards. I didn't much care, however. I was too tired and in too much pain to do anything about it. That's about when I started teaching myself to be ambidextrous.

I dont think scientists honestly know the truth, but that's what I gathered
But I still (I almost said 'on the other hand' -cough-) think anyone can teach themselves! Oh heck I don't know!!!

I started out ambidextrous but due to a childhood injury to the left hand went right-handed. Some of my circle postulated that I also went right-handed because I went to parochial school but I was (and am) the kind of kid who wouldn't let anyone tell me something natural was wrong.
The interesting thing is, when I'm doing something meditative, or I'm sculpting, I revert to ambidexterity. It's when I'm doing something that requires thought — like painting — that I go right-handed.

Very predominantly right-handed here (as are most people.). Yet, I occasionally use ym left hand for my computer mouse, only because my right-hand often becomes sore from it's constant use for writing and drawing.
I've also picked up a habit of using flamables with my left hand. I'm terribly paranoid of harming my right hand, because I feel its my most useful hand. So, to avoid the risk of hurting my right hand, I use matches, light things, and handle hot/sharp/dangerous objects with my left.

IT IS AWESOME INNIT!?
But yeah, i suppose my left hand does good on that.
Well be, thy one. And wisdom too. And grew, and joyed in my growth. From a word to a word, I was led to a word. From a deed...to another deed.
