Man, I REALLY wish I could go - I just plain don't have the fundage for it - or any other close friends who would have the fundage to go with me anyway :/ . I'd love to hang out with some more of the Packmembers again and meet up with Abrownrigg again - I really had a blast at A-kon ^^. And I'd love to meet you in person, Goldie - hate to sound like a fangirl, but your art's always been a major inspiration for me n.n

Sometime I'll have to go, though! Living in Texas there isn't much in the way of furry cons and I have yet to be able to go to one (I think there was one in Austin last year, that I found out a week too late about - and apparently didn't have a second year this year :/) - I'm such an art addict and I'd love to be able to buy and sell commissions there ^__^.
Well, enough of my whining - I really hope you all have a great time!

Hey Anthony! If you want I'll show you around and introduce ya to folx...I have attended all AC's since `97 and know most people. There is a super steak house inside the hotel if you want a decent steak and want to meet up.

I'd originally planned on this being my first AnthroCon even before I knew about this forum, but... Well, that was under the assumption that my brother would at least once pay his share of the rent. Now I've got $12.00 in my bank account, so you can probably guess what my chances of making it this year are.
Oh well. I won't be there, but a lot of people I know will. If you see somebody dressed up as a shark with legs sticking out of it's butt (EDIT: found a pic!) and another guy lying down on the floor to take a picture of it (his fursona's a micro), somebody tell them the blue indestructikitty says hello.

awwww...I hope someone uses a video camera. Pictures are ok. But I prefer video instead.

Heh, Tim and I have been talking about it off and on this week.. He IS co-producer on this project you know. I do have a 'little' pull with him.

Are video cameras even allowed at AC? Didn't all the remaining cons prohibit video cameras due to the whole MTV and/or Man Show fiasco, or does that just apply to camera crews?

I had a video camera at A-kon. The only place you could'nt bring the video camera was during the opening ceremonies.

I do believe that you can have video camera at the con, but you can't re-post the video anywhere. It has to remain for your personal vewing only. And you can't tape in certain areas like the art show.

That was an anime con. The furry cons, last I checked, had yet to attract any reporters outside the tabloids.

Furry cons of late, as a rule, try to avoid media coverage the best they can, simply because we've gotten nothing but sensationalist garbage in the past couple of years (e.g., Vanity Fair, MTV, CSI, etc.) I'm not honestly sure what AC's policy on media is, but I know in some cons, they're outright banned.

From Ac's website, FAQ:

I heard that I'm not allowed to film at the convention. Is that true?

Of course not. You are welcome to take photographs and video for personal use. Just remember that video or audio footage from Anthrocon cannot be broadcast without the permission of Anthrocon, Inc.

Also ALWAYS get permission from folx you are taping!!! Especially Costumers/Fursuiters...

Okie dokie, here is whats going on with me...

Me, my mom and sis will drive up to AC on the 8th(fri). Will proably get there around mid-afternoonish. They will do their own thing while I stay with the con. And on July 10th we will be leaving around afternoon time. I'd like to stay even longer, but that day is my dads b-day, so we cant just leave him alone If we do have a Freeborn/Pack dinner party thing goin on, Fri and Sat night would be best for me.

Sounds grrreat to me! The thing is how to coordinate and get together =^_^=
