Come Visit Me Here

Stepping In

I left this place about 1 year ago because my life had hit a dead end and I needed to separate myself from as many of my harmful and non-constructive, time consuming activities as I could manage. I was spending far too much time here that I needed to be using to get myself out of that rut.

A second reason that I left was because, after several years in "The Pack", (even before we were known as such), I was more than a little Werewolfed-Out. It was all beginning to leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

... however, a year has passed, and I have recently taken a step that I feel is leading me in a better direction. I am in no way cured of my problems and bad habits, but I'm walking a path that I am proud of, and feel that my life is no longer in eminent danger of self destruction.

Go HERE to see what I am up to --> http://yellowstonejoeman.deviantart.com <--

The last thing that was still keeping me away was the total Lycanthrope overload.

The first sign that I was beginning to get over it was when I was compelled to write that dramatized, fictionalized post a month ago earlier in this thread, (before I had decided to go on my current adventure). The second sign was when I was prioritizing what I wanted to pack with me on my trip down here, and what I didn't want to be without for the next four months ... and I turned my overstuffed and compacted Keepsake box inside out to find my "Pack Emblem" and add it to one of my boxes to bring with me.

The last sign was yesterday when I found myself scouring the gift shops to find just the right necklace band to string the pack emblem stone onto ... and shortly after finding it, off the side of the road, near the shop where I bought the leather strap necklace (I just discarded the cheap charm that was already on it), I encountered my first face to face with a Wild Gray Wolf.

I wanted to be sure that what I saw was actually a WOLF, and not a large Coyote, so I tromped out through the snow to check out its tracks, and was pleasantly surprised to see the unmistakable footprint of a Wolf in the snow. ... and the first thought that went through my mind was, "Is there any water in it?". The snow was too cold, so there was not any melted water in the bottom of the footprint ...
... so, I scooped the whole paw-print in my hands and ATE it. Image

Of course, I don't believe in any of that folklore stuff, but as soon as I did it, I realized that my Hiatus was over. I had to come back.

Just because of how things work down here, I likely will not be able to log in and visit often, but as of today I am declaring my Hiatus officially ended.

Welcome back Vuldari. The Pack is renewed, and the outrunner has returned.

You aren't the same fox that departed, though. You've grown and gained wisdom about yourself and who you are.

It's good to know you're back with us.

Good photographs, too. You have a good eye.

good to see you, i expect some sort of long logical argument from you soon :P

good to see you saw a wolf, one of the reasons i plan to move to Minnesota some day is to get closer to the wolves and its nice to see you succeed in that effort for yourself

(Well, what do you think the water in a wolf print would taste like?)
Mud, dirt or twigs. :P Glad to see your back... it was quieter around here without you... Too quiet... RedEye was one of the few others that actually made me think... Oh, and next time...
(Don't eat snow off the ground. Take it inside, melt it and purfiy it before taking a sig of your brand new Wolf Print Snow Water! :lol: )
{Covers face} sorry, we had too... :lol:
(Next time, don't drink out of a wolf's print... or eat it... you never know if it actually does do what the legends say... just under certain circumstances... Otherwise, you'll be a fox trapped in a wolf's body... and trust me, being trapped ain't fun.)
{Glares at Lewis}
(yeah, the human finally heard me say my name... After repeated shoutings, that is... Lewis Albert Gray, at your service. Oh, and one more thing... {Grins}

:ducktoss3: )

:ducktoss3:
Sorry, but someone had to start throwin' em.

(Duck! :lol: )
:duckie
{Ducks} Oh there are way too many puns in this post...

Thanks. I'm not using the best kind of camera for this kind of photography, but I manage to snag some nice shots here and there anyway. ( I just really wish I had a camera with a good Zoom Lens so I could have gotten some better pictures of the Wolf).

It's funny ... I'm FROM Minnesota, but I never got around to exploring the north woods where all the Timberwolves are. It wasn't until I came down here to Wyoming that I actually saw a Wild one. Good luck with your future plans yourself ... but keep in mind that if you are planning to move to Northern Minnesota, you are going to experience Winters like nothing you've ever encountered in Wellington Florida ... it gets really $%^&ing cold up there.

... though, it's actually fairly cold here (in South Yellowstone) as well. Being at a higher elevation, with the Lake Effect Snow, it looks like mid winter still. (Thus the Snowy Wolf Prints)

I've only seen one Wolf so far ... but 5 Bears (One Male Black Bear, a Female and two Cubs, and a big, brown Grizzly ... and the Grizzly was INSIDE the Village where I'm living/working ... strolling right through the Restaurant Parking lot).

Sadly, the wolves are mostly on the northern end, while I work in the south, so I have to travel almost two hours north just to get into their territory.

Thank you for the warm "Welcome Back" everybody. Image
