I honestly dont see the big hype about this movie. I just dont get it.
And as vrikasatma said...I've seen better animation in video games.

Oh I know. I read it in school and I also read "Grendel" but I never really understood why they were that interesting either. I guess Im just not big on classics.

I did not enjoy Beowulf at all. The CGI are meh, I seen better on video game cinematics. The graphics are pretty outdated by 1 year or so. The hair on the characters is real, because the actors and actresses are wearing green skin suits on their bodies expect their faces, the character's faces are rendered into 3D with a advanced program. But, their is some jerky movements and lack of emotions on most characters. The background is blurry, you cannot see the details. It's like watching a video game that is not really an epic, since the poem was retold and butcher by greedy megalomaniacs from Hollywood. Read the epic poem and still away from this 2007 unlikely appealing movie.
Pixar Animation Studio can won over Beowulf's production values.
Sony Pictures Animation can beat Beowulf's 3D.
Dreamworks Animation can also beat Beowulf's ImageMovers CGI.
Hollywood is been bringing up hype about new movies coming to theaters, some do look good, but others do not. Even with well-known actors/actresses with big names does bring a large target audience. Because everyone love celebrities! As I said Hollywood is trying so hard to bring hype, so the studios, the producers, the crew, and directors can get their money. All they want is money!
I don't like overrated games and movies, I prefer underrated works by great "Talented" People and that have fresh and original that is not based from a true story, boring non-fiction, and overused cliche' Underrated games have great critic acclaim, but with poor sales, those are better than overrated crap, but those overrated crap like Mario, Resident, Final Fantasy, and Halo are pretty good for me.
