I remember sitting through 'A wrinkle in Time' and absolutly disliking it, yet I don't have much books on my 'hate list', and also the fact I don't want to offend anyone I can tell what type of stories I dislike.

Over the edge B.S. fantasy. I love fantasy, and I think a touch with it or somethings added into the fantasy makes for a good book. Yet when you go into a realm of fantasy and all the typical crap I really dislike it. Which is why I hate dragon books, I'm not against dragons, its just when they make the dragon all magical and noble and having all these super powers. I like a fantasy element, made as realistic if that can be done, and posibly things related to that. Just not when they go overboard with the fantasy, when they can't make up any good plot and then go fight a dragon or something else stupid and unoriginal. I don't like it when they stick everything magical in the story, such as pixies, fairies, dragons, magic, and shapeshifters all in one book.

Fantasy is good, unoriginal over the egde stupid fantasy bad.

Edit: I just wanted to add another way to put it.

Movies, I do love action movies. I just got back from watching Indiana Jones, I love that show! Its got alot of action, yes, and I like it! Apparenlty I don't like it when cars blow up after just bumping into each other. To me, a book with too much fantasy is like a movie with cars blowing up every 5 minutes. I think a good plot is so much better than effects.

I  Indiana Jones. No matter what, he shall never lose his hat!
(Not to mention, he's so sexy.)
