The old-style 2D movement Contra games are some of the most thrilling video game experiences ever made. Period. Just got into the first and third ones today and yesterday (though I own Shattered Soldier, I didn't play it as much as I really should have before I lost my game collection. I sucked. Badly. And the dogs that took an assload of hits to kill didn't help.), and although I suck (and used the code and three continues in the first one to beat it), they are amazing. Any gamer who hasn't given these a chance (you may have played them and given up because of the extreme difficulty) is missing out.

There's this little emporium down my street and I spent 2 hours in there getting stones. I'm going back tomorrow too cause I only got through half the store

I've now seen both 3:10 to Yuma films within a day of each other. First viewing both times. It's weird to compare them, they're different, but the same.
