Hmm.... Fig probably has a fear of Ducahmoticonatraphius... a rare disease which prevents people from throwing duckies or posting cute/funny emoticons.

I have a fear of dreaming. :-/ Some nights I stay up until dawn just because I know I will have a nightmare that night.
The thing is I am a lucid dreamer, so I know it's a dream but I can't stop it. And my unconcious can come up with some horrendous stuff. :(
When that happens I always try to wake myself up and I think that I have only to find myself in a new nightmare in my house. ...And it keeps on going until something outside wakes me up. I've had that happen upwards of five times in a row in one night. :-/

Ooh, also humanoid creatures crawling on the wall/ceiling. *shudder*

I'm afraid of the birthday balloons my dad and I get my mom for her (duh) b-day. They always do weird stuff and I swear they get possessed. I'd walk into the kitchen at night to get a drink or something to eat and I'd see that balloon. I'd feel terrified, just looking at it floating there, it seemed unnatural somehow so I turned around and hurried to my room. Weird, but that's what this thread's for...

I'm afraid that if I over dose on pills I'll be eaten from the inside out. Unluckily wednsday night on Ripleys there was a thing about some parasite or desiese that eats you from the inside out, I'm scared! I also fear alot of those rare inflictions people get, I hope I never have something like that happen. Also anything happening to my brain or hands,

I also fear those blood pressure thingamabobs, the things that squeeze your arm.
:(

Bogeyman or bogies- Bogyphobia. - For my baby sister, all you have to say is the Bogey man is going to get her and she freaks!

fear of Brain disease- Meningitophobia - I think alot of people fear that.

Ahwell, alot of fears there.

You know, for a moment I thought you said, "I'm afraid of going through dark kittens." I'll spare you the mental images it brought to mind.

I'm afraid of od-ing on pills. My mom gave me some sleeping pills for this trip I went on and they didn't work at all. I considered taking two, but I was afraid I'd die or something. I have to read the directions so I know how many I can take and be alright.

I'm afraid water can make you dehydrate and turn into dust after seeing one movie that did that, The Tuxedo was it?

I'm afraid that if you drink too much water before bed, you'll pee in your sleep. Hasn't happened to me yet, but that's becuse I haven't drank enough water for it to happen. Eeew!

My greatest fear is being trapped in a cramped space. Claustrophobia. It would have to be the size of a small closet to really get me freaked out.

And... apparently, I'm afraid of wild snakes. I'm fine with pet snakes, its just the untamed and possibly poisonous ones I'm afraid of. I know this because I saw a Copperhead snake while I was walking on an abandoned beaver dam near a lake. I never ran so fast for so long. I ran an entire mile all the way back to camp. Of course, that was when I was only 10 years old. It's nine years later, and I'm not sure if that fear is still in me.

So, you have been struggling with sphygmomanometerophobia. It happens to the best of us.

I was going to say that I had a weird phobia of living too close to the ocean, for fear that a global catastrophe such as a meteor impact into the Atlantic would wipe me out in a flood, tsunami, or such. But, I don't think I'm going to be quite so alone in that fear. It's not a debilitating phobia, but it's enough to make me and my wife want to move. And, hearing about a tsunami killing 100,000, freak hurricane seasons, and now Katrina--and, by the way, there's a typhoon barrelling down on Taiwan right now.

:? I didn't at all get any results on the internet for that, so can I ask what is that? The fear of being squeezed?

I'd say that some of my fears are from ofcource being told so. I fear over dosing on pills because my mom told me they would eat me, I fear the blood pressure things because my grandma told me when I was young they stick needles in your arms, I fear those brain scans because someone told me your brain will blow up or be damaged. I'm afraid metal in the microwave blows it up, though when I last checked it didn't, or if I stand nezt to a microwave cooking something it'll rot my brain, all because someone messed up my sanity and told me that.

Thus, I am an example how the lies and stories about wolves had stuck onto people way to much.

Have I told my fear of glowing stuff yet? They just sit there like they are menecing me, I have this glow in the dark eraser, sheesh, seeing it just glow is scarey. Though I have had little stars and moons on my wall once, and would love to have them again probaly because they are shaped like stars I thought of stars and not something radio active.

A sphygmomanometer is a machine used to measure blood pressure.

Ah, thankyou for that. Atleast I know I'm not the only one who fears those machines, my brother Dale won't touch those things etheir!

I've had foil placed in the microwa bvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv bbbbbbbbb
(LOL, thankyou for that one Oliver, is your kitty self trying to tell me something?

Back to what I was talking about, I've had foil in the microwave and of cource freaked out from the sparks.

Otherwise one fear I can be relaxed at is bumps in the night, I do jump and fret a bit at noises, but when you have cats you get used to it.

I didn't know about the microwave thing at the time, so I've actually put foil-wrapped potatoes in a microwave when I lived in an apartment some eight years or so ago. I was a bit surprised to see sparks flying. I thought maybe it was some sort of metaphysical thing; maybe the life essence of the potato was leaving.
