both:

on all fours for speed.

on two legs for anything that may be required on two legs ex: jump to a ledge that isn't reachable while on all fours.

either way.depends on the movie or the myth. And to those who went to werewolf culture, i ment the nuts type of lycanthropy.

BOTH, for sure. im not sure i like this talk of "full wolf" form, im all about hybid (or gestalt, if you prefer). but gestalts should be able to kind of relocate their shoulder blades for quadrepedal movement, yay! :D

I think they can walk or run both on all fours or just on two.Though to use their muscles in an efficient way, they have to introduce some slight changes when walking on four legs or two.
Both...Each of them has an advantage that the other doesn't.

i say they walk on fours unless they are hybrids then they walk on twos. but other than that they can choose whether to walk on two or fours. its the werewolves choice.

I would think both. The walking on 2 legs would just seem natural to the human part and the speed one would get from being on all fours would just be...wow. Come to think about it, wouldn't it be so nice to just be able to put four paws on the ground and just feel the world go by?

Interesting thing I saw on Animal Planet. Would a biped ditigrade walk like Faith?

Hmmm: She's digitigrade. She's bi-ped (not by design, though).

Maybe...only since Faith is a dog, she doesn't really have the fine motor skills a Werewolf (part human) would have.

So..maybe something like that.

:eyebrow: So.....You're saying that a bipedal werewolf, much like Faith, would....skip around instead of walk?....How very fanciful.

I kid. Really, that's an awesome dog. I'm glad they didn't put it down.

I would hope that werewolves could have the best of both worlds. Walking kind of upright and being able to go down on all fours to make chase. Shorten the fibula and tibia(shin bones) and you'll get a good stride and balance despite walking on the toes. Lengthening any of the bones in the arm would be a bad idea, considering that it would take more bone density to be able to sustain such pressure as running on all fours.
To me bone density stays the same mostly through out for a transformation...It's just how I see it.

I'd have to go with the crowed here both.
They have both their advantages and disadvantages

Faith hops and skips because she doesn't have the program that controls the forward fall and turns it into walking.
I suspect that she doesn't have the processing ability to learn to walk by watching someone else, either.
She's a dog. Lucky, yes; that someone gave her a chance. But, ultimately, she's still a dog with a dog's brainpower.

Domestic dogs aren't nearly as intelligent as wolves. They have been bred to depend on humans for the things a Wolf has to reason out on his/her own. Dogs are smart, but in a totally different way from wolves.

So, Faith hops and skips; it beats being put down.

I would say probably during the first full moon they would be on all fours then after the next few transformations they get used to getting on both, but thats my opinion. :howl: :oo

Both for me.

In Wolf form (being a true wolf) they would have no other option than to go on all four legs. As a human, could do two or four. But that would look very odd to see a person walking around on four legs all day. Though I'm sure that someone has done that before....

[quoteI think they would usually walk upright, but if they really had to move fast, they could drop down to all fours and run faster than they would otherwise.

ditto[/quote]

Both, each allows for diferent abilities.
Two legs= use of hands (operating equpiment etc..) fighting(claws and bitting)
four legs= faster ground speed and easier to move through the woods etc.. Also urban areas like subburs at night without much problems at all.
And to back up my last statement heres a question for you..

How many times have you actually paid attention to the dog walking down the street or ally? (especially at night)

Posted: Thu May 08, 2008 9:43 am
by Fyriewolf
okay I had only saw a dog walking on the streets or ally about four times.

I voted for only on two legs, since my ideal werewolf gestalt has a relatively human-like body, and I can't for the life of me imagine how he would move any faster, or be any more agile, when using all four limbs. It's a difficult concept for me to picture, and it seems unnecessary at best, clumsy at worst. Digitigrade feet are already conducive to speed.

I try walking on my arms because I would try walking any way just for fun of it

Like imagine a werewolf doing a cartwheel
