Heh, if Timberwolf is the Timberwolf I know, I defy any cat to move with more grace or agility.

A first-time shifter, for example, wouldn't be accustomed to his/her new form and would likely have trouble standing up. On the other hand, a werewolf with the proper training could probably have some Matrix-esque abilities. For the most part though, I wouldn't stretch reality too much in their capabilities -- just give them enough agility to keep it interesting.
I completely agree!

I don't mind climbing up a wall - I'm a rock climber and would be a little disappointed if the Werewolves in the movie couldn't at least do what I do. But horizotal wall crawling gets on my nerves.

Eh, the way I see it, Rock Climbing is something humans can do if they practice enough, so it's acceptable.
But....Randomly scaling up walls with no crevices at all, walls that have no friction and no human could climb: ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!! BADDDD!!!!!!

woot the werewolf just kicks out in matrix style and runs up the wall

Heh, yer right...."bad" (and I mean "not good"). What would gve the Werewolf the ability to crawl sideways along a wall? That would have to be magic. It doesn't look real. It looks fake.

unless theres holes and crevices and maybe if the WW is attatched to a rope being pulled up the wall

The werewolf climbing up a big wall backwards while shifting was cool looking but unrealistic. No human can do that that easily forward, forget backward. Then while going through the stress and pain of shifting, then with a completly weird body. If you suddenly had a new body you wouldn't be very skilled at it. But to sum it up, no werewolves need to climb walls, especially the way done in Van Helsing.

YA i think werewolfs are pritty fast and can move there mass pritty quickly i mean look at your dog they can be quite fast when they want to

Wolves are fast. They can run down a slow caribou, putting them right about at the 35-40mph range. It should also go noted that young females are the fastest of wolves.
They're not terribly limber, but humans are unquestionably: just look at rubber people in sideshows. I'd put a werewolf between a wolf and a leopard in terms of flexibility; more limber than the former, not as limber as the latter.
Another thing to note is wolves can run and run and run forever. They're stamina monsters. A werewolf could probably run the Boston Marathon in an hour.

What we are seeming to be wandering vaguely toward is the question:
Just how gracceful is a Werewolf at baseline level, and how much can said Wolf improve his or her Dexterity stats?
I'd say: it depends on the Werewolf. Basic Dex. = average Dog stats. Fast on all fours, quick turning...but then stand the Were' up on his/her hind legs and his/her Dex. goes down to basically "Lumbering".
Give them time, in either form, and their dexterity will improve: perhaps to the point of actually hitting something with a thrown Duckie.
Time, I'd say, is the factor most involved. An old-timer Werewolf would probably be smo-o-o-th as glass. A Newbie would be...a Newbie. Nuff said?
I asked a passing Werewolf about the Wall climbing thing and he told me about a thing called a ladder. Then he called me an idiot...so I bit him, now he turns into a writer at the Full Moon.

depends on the werewolf type and the werewolf's level of practice at it. basic werewolf I don't see even climbing a cliff, but a more agile, more magical breed yes or an older one, mainly bipedal werewolves I can see being fairly descent climbers.
However an important note, most big cats are poor climbers, with only a few exceptions. If the werewolf is too heavy and yet made for speed on all fours I can't see it being a good climber.
However I don't like the spider-man werewolves that can scale a wall like a magical elf, actaully I don't even like vampires doing this either, it gives them too much power than they deserve in my opinion.

I hate vampires
A werewolf wouldn't really climb a wall he would just jump over it with maybe 1 or 2 steps on the wall like wallrun.
But ofcorse if the wall is to high high he would'n get over it

. Except with magical abilities.

I voted for something in between...but what about a wereCAT?
