No one quite agrees on what he is.
There are rumors of a real Set animal, one which was killed somewhere in Africa, which the locals call the Salawa. It's one of those animals that falls under the realms of cryptozoology, as no specimen or photos have ever been obtained.

They're not sure what a lot of those Eqyptian god animals really were....like Anubis. They arent 100% possitive its a jackal.
