Fenrir, the Republicans didn't do any better. They spent our surplus and got us into another vietnam. At least the Democrats are pushing for alternative fuels and tax cuts for the middle class ( As opposed to the republicans who only wanted the super-rich to benefit ) And every single time the giovernment has raised the middle class the right wingers screamed it would bankrupt the couuntry, but it never happenbed. You'd prefer poor people still work for slave wages? Because that's what minimum wage IS.
I'am not saying they did better, I'am saying I hope the Democrats don't screw it up any worse than it already is! I didn't praise the Republicans in that speil, just because I complained about the Democrats Doesn't mean that I'am pro-Republican, they only thing in that which had anything to do with Republicans, was that thing about Bush which said that I hope he can stpp being an idiot for one minute!!!! Do not accuse me of the crime of being one-side, without proof Matt, that is just rude.MattSullivan wrote:Fenrir, the Republicans didn't do any better. Since you felt like editing your post I shall expand.MattSullivan wrote:Fenrir, the Republicans didn't do any better. They spent our surplus and got us into another vietnam. Ok, basic Buisiness 101 Matt, when you have to pay a bulk of your imployees more, most buisineses will not make as much money, and because they are greedy bastards, they will want to make just as much, so they will increase their prices just as much as the pay increase NOTHING HAS CHANGED MATT! THAT'S BASIC CAPITOLISM!!! If it costs you more to pay imployees, raise prices!
If I remember correctly Democrats were complaining as soon as Bush won, not after he was elected, before. they were complaining about what he Might do, not what he was doing.MattSullivan wrote:All I'm saying, is wait until the democrats screw up, THEN complain about em :} They just got into office...
But I hate politics to begin with, I'am only worried because my future is at stake with this stuff, because I do not want to be one of those who get minimum wage. That's what might happen if they do that, and personally I want to go to college, I've spent to much of MY money on learning languages.

No Fenrir, I wasn't accusing you of anything.
What I did do, was provide a counter-argument to some of your observations ( and fears ) about the Democrats. That's all.
Now, i understand why you're worried about your future. the government isn't doing any of us any favors. I've watched as my business has been 90% outsourced to places like China, Mexico, and Asia. And they government won;t lift a finger to penalize an American company even though there's plenty of us here that wanted to do the work.
I would dare say, that IF the Democrats raise taxes, it will be to fix the horrible situation the Republicans got us into. They spent 700 BILLION dollars on this Iraq war. And we've gained absoloutly NOTHING from it. NOTHING.
This is all part of an observation i made, regarding your previous post, and the direction in which this thread was headed. I think we can all agree, that America isn't a very rich or well-to-do country anymore. There is no such thing as job security anymore. Prices are going up on everything. Middle class people have to decide whether to by food, or go to the doctor. And on top of that, you have a billion chinese people competing for your job in today's "multicultural" world. And they'll probably get it too. That is, if a huge corporation doesn't pay an illegal immigrant to do it for 1/10th of what they'd have to pay you.
Wasn't accusing you of anything.

HEY !
What say we drop the politics and get this thread back ON TOPIC !
I have been going to Comicon for the last few years. AKon if I understand it's name, revolves around Anime. They are OK, but don't really float my boat all that much.
Comicon is a mecca for the television and movie industry, comic fans, lovers of art, artists and writers and yes, even anime. Most years I have also attended Masquerade which fills one evening and is a ton of fun.
Others here have mentioned that Comicon is HUGE. The funny part is that until one has been there, it is nearly impossible to gauge just how unbelievably large it is.
I am already signed up for Comicon this July.
I plan to be there from Wednesday thru Sunday. Wednesday evening is preview night for those who are pre-registered. Then the con begins in earnest starting Thursday through Sunday.
I try to spend as much time as I am able at the con-site.
In prior years I have been at hotels far enough away that I would drive to the con each day. This year I am going to try to be sufficiently close that I can take the free busses around San Diego and leave my car at the hotel.
Comicon 2007
For those on this board who will be at Comicon regardless, it IS a real choice even for a get together on the con floor.

The change, does it wrack the bones and rend the flesh ? Yes, indeed it does. But is this pain and agony alone ? No, in fact hardly at all. It is the Sacrament of the Moon. The flesh flows and so do the endorphins. It is, in truth, the agony ecstatic; The Pain That Is Pleasure
