Yea!! Now I can start learning how to drive.
wow, how old do you have to be to get a permit in florida, cause i got mine when i was fifteen, wow that was a long time ago, Iam almost seventeen now just two more months 8)
I think its the same here. but most people where I live get it at 16 cause you can take drivers ed class at school. I decided not to rush, plus their was other elections I wanted to take more than drivers ed.

With todays gas prices, I'm better off walking. So I'm putting off driving, for now anyway

Ditto. I need to go take the permit test. But when I get my license, I'll probably walk. Gas is way too much and wages at work aren't getting higher. Inflation....

Gas has actually went down a tiny bit here...half a dollar almost! :o

SO...news huh? Well, I moved into the new apartment and I LOVE it! Though we havent really gotten to use it yet. My mate sprained his ankle carrying some boxes and now he has crutches. So we havent been able to go shopping and get stuff for the new house. But its his left ankle so he can still drive!

And most of the furniture is being delivered Saturday. But the couch wont come until the end of the month. And Im going to have to take off of work for the phone to get set up. :P I just took off work to move!

For right now most of the stuff is still in boxes as we eagerly await our bookcases. And the bed is in the living room. And we have no cable. And we have to eat out everynight because we dont have pots to cook with b/c my mate wants to pick them out and he cant wander around Linnens and Things with crutches! Sheesh!

But I like lving away from my mother. And Im glad that I dont have to deal with his roommate anymore. My only complaint about the apartment is that the shower tends to get hot and cold on me for no reason. Note to self: figure out why that does that!

The kids went back to school today. This is the first year Im not going back. Its a little weird. Lucky punks! Its easier there!

I'm in the market for a used camper van and I'm going to concentrate on getting a diesel. My local area is blessed with a number of bio-diesel co-ops. I got a couple options; one, I can get a used diesel truck and find a camper on Craig's List; two, I can find a diesel van and make it into a camper van (we sometimes get cabinets offered on Freecycle and I can make the bed any way I want); three, I can get a regular gas camper van and install a flex-fuel pump which would allow me to burn ethanol.

Next year's Burning Man art theme is The Green Man. They're talking about getting the Center Camp grid completely on solar and biofuels and they're even going to offset the carbon released by the Man's burn by planting trees. This year I saw a bunch of camps running biodiesel generators and the art car community is rallying behind it, too. I'm looking at converting my camp to 100% solar and biodiesel.

My wife Cathey had her hip surgery yesterday, and she's recovering well. She should be home some time this weekend. I spent most of yesterday with her. Hip replacements take awhile to recover, so she'll be slow-moving for the next month or two. But, her hip had gotten so bad that she won't be much worse than she already was, and she'll be getting better each day.

This sucks my steam has been deleted by a virus. And my half life 2 disc wont let me reinstall from there, so now I have to install it from the internet.....wonderful, now its gonna take even longer, Ill let it run through the night.

Anyway the reason why Im putting this is because if anyone has CSS or HL2:D, or Halo or MOHAA, just pm me and we can start a match together.

Just an FYI to everybody here...

The Graphics Card in my PC just went spontaniously Kaput.

...it just...went and died...

By a stroke of dumb luck, I just happened to have an old, obsolite card lying around in a dusty box in my closet from a few upgrades (and a few years) back...which is how I am able to be online now...but I have no idea what kind of graphics card it is any more, so I am unable to install the correct drivers untill I figure that out.

In the meantime, it's running on the bare-bones default drivers...which perform like ****. Even surfing web-pages is almost unbearable.

Therefore, I may not log on again for a while (a few days...a week?...) untill I get everything sorted out, and running properly again.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me either. This frankenstein box of mine (constucted from the leftover parts of my mothers, fathers and brothers old computers, plus a few hundred dollars in upgrades) has killed two other graphics cards in the past, and I'm not sure how long this old card will last before the curse on this machine kills it as well. It has allready made strange buzzing noises since I plugged it in...

...

I really just need to build a new box constructed of parts built in the same century of each other. 10 year old monitors, Power supplies, and CD drives from the late 90's, and the hottest graphics cards, from two years ago, plus obsolite clearance stock motherboards and processors from who knows where don't seem to get along so well anymore...though it rocked for a little while. (I was running ES IV:Oblivion with fairly high settings up untill now. ...but the card I have installed now is not even compatable anymore...)

...but that would cost SO MUCH MONEY...which I don't have.

*Sigh*

...so if you don't hear from me again for a while, it's probobly because my patchwork PC has finally gone and exploded or something.

(or maybe my brother will have the magic fix and I'll be back tomorrow as if nothing happened...I just don't know.)

Cathey's now home after a three day hospital stay, following her hip replacement. Slow moving and painful right now. I'll be glad to see her more mobile again in a few weeks.

On the plus side, though I'm working long hours in various ERS, many of the places are slower paced, which has allowed me to resume work on my ongoing story Lycanthrope: Singularity. (Originally entitled "Lycanthrope: Lunar Calling"--you can read it in the Creative Den by that title.) I've gained a number of readers supporting it. Thanks to each of you!

My best wishes to your Wife for a speedy recovery Scott Gardener.

...well...it seems that I overestimated how ****ed up my PC was. (At least...I hope).

I eventually found a super-tiny serial number on the graphics card which allowed me to determine the model and download the right drivers, so now I'm back up and running again.

...but now I want a new computer. *Sigh*

My lovely mate is off the crutches and almost perfect now! And so we went shopping for all the stuff we needed for the house (pots, pans, dishes, cleaning products, food, strainer, cooking utensils etc.) and are now quite a bit in debt. :( Ah well. The apartment is actually starting to come together and it is all stuff that we do need in the long run. I love my mate. He looked cute grunting and cursing as he put the furniture together. Oh yeah, we bought a drill too.

Just wondering. I was worried that I might catch it. Just kidding!

Feel better.
