no anyway, i think that is ridiculous too. if being a werewolf is treated like a disease, meaning being bitten "infects" you, then you should be pretty much stuck. if you kill the person who gave you a cold or the flu, you wont be cured.... (or will you? i doubt anyone has tried.)

Just reread the whole thread, and I agree with everyone that said lycanthropy affects the body too greatly for it to ever be cured once its become active. It just affects the body in too many ways for it to be safe to even try to cure it.

Vaccinate against lycanthropy or take other precautions to avoid contracting it to begin with?
Maybe.

Cure it immediately after infection before it can have any lasting effects?
Maybe.

Make some kind of Prof. Lupin potion that will quell some of the effects of lycanthropy and make it easier to live a normal life with it?
Maybe.

Cure a full werewolf outright?
Hell no.

For a moment, let's say that there ARE werewolves, and they can be made through reproduction, the bite, or other "fliuds-sharing" experiences.
Folks, once you're a Werewolf, you have changed your species from Homo Sapiens Simiensis to Homo Sapiens Lupens, and you are a metamorph.
That takes a heck of a lot of genetic re-writing in each and every cell of the body, to make a Smoothskin into a Werewolf. Effectively, you've become a metamorph (a Bi-morphic metamorph, actually). That's a one way street, since now any further changes still fall under the Metamorph label. For reference, we'll call Smoothskin Humans "Monomorphs". Once a monomorph becomes a metamorph; that's it! Any further change is still metamorphic.
There are probably limits on how many times the cellular "template" can be re-written without causing uncontrolled growth (cancer) on the part the cells involved.
It's a given that Werewolves are disease-resistant. You could reverse the "Wolfing" at the price of cancer as your cellular templates disintegrate and the cells of your body just start growing...and growing...and growing.
The cure could be worse than the disease, or worse; the cure could cause a fatal disease.
Now, is getting fuzzy and toothy really that bad, considering what being cured would do to you?
