Tell me about it. I was gone only a few weeks, and when I came back...... I just decided not to even TRY to catch up on all of the topics that had been going on in my absence.

I know what you mean. It used to be I could go to sleep at night, and when I woke up there would be a couple messages if I was lucky. Now I wake up and there are dozens... Who knows how I'm going to keep up with it all once classes start back up.

no cause those theoretically pull themselves inside out and start spewing matter and stuff, but that takes a while,Lupin wrote:Or maybe a black hole?Fenrir wrote:So your saying the pack is going to do what Rome did and callapse on its self

The oscillations between the black holes at opposite ends of the wormhole force the black holes to become white holes that eject matter and antimatter in opposite directions forming the spiral arms of stars within the galactic disk

Don't take it too seriously, it was mentioned half in jest. You can read this fun article, if you want, but it only really applies indirectly.Silverclaw wrote:How so?
The Pack forums will die someday -- there's no doubt about that -- but we probably don't have to worry about it for a fair while yet. I think the forums will be in the most danger of disintegration a short while after the movie gets released on video/DVD.
At that time, most of the hardcore fans (us) will have seen it, discussed it, dissected it, ripped it apart and chewed on the pieces. We will have a rather large flood of new people wanting to discuss the movie, but having little or no interest in the things we value that have kept us here all this time. We will get our fair share of lamers, flamers and trolls, causing us to require a more strict and more clearly-defined set of rules. These will chafe and annoy existing members (as will the irritating host of newbies). Our wonderful little out-of-the-way community here will choke on its own popularity.
Furthermore, unless we change our primary focus away from Freeborn, we will have lost much of our cause for discussion. If we remain focused solely on Freeborn, we will isolate and push away other projects that might want our help. We will cease to have a reason for existing other than the discussion of the movie. That reason will die as the movie ages. I suspect many of us will abandon the forums altogether long before this point, opting instead for alternate forms of contact with old Pack friends.
The old generation will fade away, and the new will be too shallow to survive.
This is what I fear for the Pack.
I may be wrong by and large, but it remains that the only way that I see out of this is to extend ourselves to encompass much more than just Freeborn. Over and over I see people using the excuse, "Freeborn will be this; Freeborn will be that, so your opinion about such and such werewolfy thing doesn't really apply." This kind of attitude is like chaining ourselves to a tree -- we only survive as long as the tree remains alive to keep producing fruit.

I personally don't have any problems talking about other movies, but since they're purely hypothetical at this point in time, it makes them a bit hard to discuss.Vilkacis wrote:I may be wrong by and large, but it remains that the only way that I see out of this is to extend ourselves to encompass much more than just Freeborn.
