You don't need a pic, I didn't have a picture of myself up for a week after I signed up.

Go ahead and go for it! :)

Only with the deepest of reluctance, and only because there's a group there where Pack members can work on photomanipulation demos for Freeborn.

i don't have a myspace, but i do have an account at purevolume.com, which can be used for basically the same thing, but that's not it's main feature. bands post some of their songs on there, and you can download some and listen to others, and you can see when differnt concerts in your area will be, and yeah. it's fun. if you join, look me up. i have the same username as on here.

During the three day "bandwidth exceeded" crisis, MySpace became my link to the rest of you. So, once again, in the spirit of Battlestar Galactica, I take back everything I said. MySpace isn't that bad, really. A bit pop-trendy, and the ads are a bit annoying--high schoolish efforts at sex appeal and so forth. Funny thing is, one reoccurring ad I kept finding whenever trying to find out what was going on with the Pack site down time had a "shoot the duckies to get a free laptop." What are the odds?

Myspace scares me because everytime I go on there I stumble onto some girl I know from highschool's page and she's showing off her boobs or trying to look sexy. And its girls I always thought were polite and smart. Its just disgusting. And I really dont want to know that much about people I see everyday.

It's blatantly unwise. People forget that MySpace and other Internet sites are public, and people like bosses, family, friends, and colleagues can see it. It's risky enough that future hospital administrators can see that I have a fascination with werewolves. I take a chance because physicians are allowed a certain modicum of quirkiness. It's one of the fringe benefits of being self-employed professionals who can do something only a few people are allowed to do.

But, there's people out there who are idiotic enough complain about their workplace or discuss job hunting plans (quick way to get fired), insult people behind their backs (if people in Sweden can read it, so can your friend), or even boast about criminal activity (Exhibit B, Your Honor, downloaded off YouTube.) Back around 1994, someone at my college here in the U.S. unaccustomed to the link between the online world and the real world appearantly jokingly emailed a threat to the White House. The U.S. Secret Service showed up, and they were not amused.

Bottom line: we should have freedom of speech. But, we should also be prepared for the fact that people will act on what we say. That goes just as much online as it does anywhere else.

Heh...I saw that. I wanted to grab those moving duckies and start tossing them around. No such luck. :grinp:

Posting a warning...

I got the damn bulletins virus going around. If you're on my Friends list (Awesome Xocowolf), don't visit my profile! And don't respond to any comments, posts or messages that seem to come from me.

We're working on it. I'll probably lose my profile and then build another one. Give me a week or so to get back up.

Or heck, I might just jump ship and go to LiveJournal or Yahoo!360. I was kind of getting sick of watching those leering creeps shave bimbos on my page...

Oh GOD! Please don't do that!! I hate it when people do that in any webpage. Then the colorful background pics they use makes the text unreadable. Myspace is alrady a haven of bad web design. Please don't add to the problem. My eyes are bleeding enough as it is. :(
