Not that I've ever heard. The only thing I can think of is that in Checkers you're required to make a jump if you can, but there's nothing like that in Chess.

(knowing that, do you still want to move there?)

Not that I've ever heard. The only thing I can think of is that in Checkers you're required to make a jump if you can, but there's nothing like that in Chess.
