This morning lightning hit my phone lines and somehow fried both my computer and monitor. Neither one will turn on. It's still under warranty for defects, so I'll probably wait a few days then take it back and try to tell them it just stopped working. Only problem with that is that they might want to wipe my HD, If that's the case then I'm not letting them fix it, I'll have to get a job and do it myself, but if It was strong enough to kill the monitor and computer through a phone line I don't know how much of the computer will still function. I'm hoping the HD will still be good since it's more mechanical and not as prone to things like that (I hope, I might be totally wrong.). I'll be on as much as I can manage. I just wanted everyone to know I haven't left (Like anyone would notice, I haven't been here long)

I'll still be able to post sometimes, I've got access to another computer plus the school's computers which I'm on right now. I've got it set up so my topic notification emails are forwarded to my gmail account which I can check at school I've also got an old one that I might be able to salvage parts from, or at least swap HDs if the one in mine is still good.

That sucks. I've had lightning kill two of my modems before. (I ended up finxing this by making it so I can ground out everything out so well the phone doesn't ring. (Though I'm still [spoiler]screwed[/spoiler] in the event of a direct strike.))

I think we're going to look into the grounding thing, we've already had to replace one modem and rewire parts of the house more than once.

Yep, I'm still here, I just can't be on near as much as I would like. I probably should have titled this thread something along the lines of "I won't be on as much for a while" or something similar

Well look at it this way: You're gove for awhile, and then you come back. And then you're gone, but you come back later So, you really are "gone for awhile" Heh heh, don't mind me
