Which form would you howl in?

Ok, regualr wolves howl. We know that. But werewolves are different. They can howl at any time, any place, and any form. They can even howl as part of a ritual.

If you feel like howling, is there a specific form you would rather take before you do?

It doesn't have to be at the moon. It could be any situation.

I'd howl in any form. Though...apparently I sound more like a coyote than a wolf. I have conversations with the coyote pack that live in the woods around my house from time to time.

I'd just howl in just the wolf/gestalt forms.

I think that howling in human form would just look silly. :P

Would howl in werewolf and wolf forms only. I sound pretty bad when I try to howl

I've tried to howl, and the human mouth structure really messes it up. So I'd stick to wolf and Gestalt myself... :P

Wolf and Hybrid form only, it sounds pretty silly when a human tries to howl.

Not in human form, certainly.

I might try it in wolf or hybrid form, but of the two I'd be more likely to do it in wolf form. In any case, I probably wouldn't do it very often.

Well... Technically you could do it in all three forms, but a werewolf could howl in both full wolf and gestalt form and properly render the intended emotion and understand the meaning, whereas all a human could do is attempt to mimic a howl.

So a werewolf would only have logical reason to howl outside of their human form. However, if anonymity is as important as we've concluded, howling would be especially discouraged while in gestalt form; the last thing you want to do when you look like that is draw attention to yourself. It wouldn't be so much of a problem as a full wolf, of course, because the presumption is that if they were seen, they could pass themselves off as a normal canine if need be.

So were I a werewolf, even though I could expressively howl in both gestalt and wolf form, I only would howl in the latter.

I prefer howling in gastalt or wolf form, cause atleast I have an excuse for howling. :D

Hrum... Probably only in the gestalt and wolfen form. Though already right now I do howl in human form, I'd prefer not to howl in human form simply because it'd draw attention to myself.

*nods* Same here (yes, the werekitty howls from time to time). I'll do it now whenever I'm in the right frame of mind, but were I a werewolf for real, I'd be a little more concerned about my anonymity than I am now.

LOL  . I just got this weird image of a human howling random gibberish in coyote, and the coyotes being like "WTF?!".

I'd be more inclinded to howl just in gestalt/wolf form. :howl: :oo It'll sound a LOT better that way. Howling humans just come off as nuts usally..though that doesnt stop me.. hwlwnk

Also the werewolf can have the proper tones when in wolf or gestalt form. :howl: :oo

I find howling in human form a bit silly. :P

Gestalt and wolf. I'd prolly feel like howling, no matter what form, but human throat and mouth just aren't built for that kind of vocalisation.

I really hate it when the voice changes, especially during shift. The voice can get a bit lower, but not too much. In most of the werewolf-movies, it sounds like they swallowed a broken speaker.

I chose wolf only. But that depends on whether you can speak in gestalt. If you can't because your vocal chords are more wolven, then yes, howl in gestalt too. Any human can howl, but maybe one percent of people can do it well. (note, I have heard people howl who mimicked wolves almost perfectly, but most people can't do that.) While it might be effective to have a werewolf try to howl as a human and fail miserably, it could just look dorky if not handled properly.

Ok, good, I'm not the only howling werecat. ;)
It doesn't have anything to do with my therianthropy, I just find it a good emotional release.

I figure it should change more than that, since it's not just the throat that's changing, but the shape of the mouth too.

Yeah, I would think that speech would be slurred with really growly accent. Like someone who had their vocal chords injured trying to talk while wearing rubber vampire teeth. ;-)
