I consider this strong enough evidence that it's time to either locate a local alternative rock station or purchase a clock radio that couldn't very well be as old as I am. I count System of a Down among my top five favorite rock bands of all time (short only of Sevendust, Live, Boston and 30 Seconds to Mars), and yet I haven't heard of any of those tracks before.

Oh. And speaking of my top five:

Band: 30 Seconds to Mars
Album: [Self-titled debut album]
Song: The Mission

Ditto. Like the kind you can hear on WILDSTYLE in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, right? I love that stuff.

Oh yeah, and:

Band: Lucky Boys Confusion
Album: Throwing the Game
Song: One to the Right

Yeah, I've always got WMP on. :P :D
Pfft! Screw the radio! I have Rhapsody! I don't have credit yet so my mom is paying for it with her credit and I repay her with my money from my new job. Rhapsody is awesome. Imagine uploading any song you want in 3 to 5 seconds! :P

Cool. Thanks guys. *prepares himself for a long e-bay night*

Oh, and speaking of GTA:

Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival
Album: Chronicle
Song: Green River
:P I was listening to my brother (him again!) beating his gums while he went on a GTA: San Andreas rampage, so this seemed like an appropriate enough song to drown him out with (and will probably be following with Boston's Smokin' afterwards).

Love the title.

And to everyone that mentioned the Black Eyed Peas: there's nothing to be ashamed of. In ten years, their the first rap and/or hip-hop group that's actually gotten better with time and exposure (50 What? Puff Whosis? Six Pack?) since East Coast Swing became hip-hop some ten-odd years ago (I'm almost ashamed to admit this: I still like Boyz II Men).

And, oh... What the hell, I've still got WMP on:

Band: Depeche Mode
Album: Ultra
Song: Useless

Vermillion is cool. Probably one of the best Slipknot-songs, IMO.

I wouldn't go that far, but... Yeah, I will agree that a lot of their hype and fame is undeserved. Despite it having gone 15+ years strong, the big giant hip-hop Pepsi-culture Grammy-award industry is apparently still trying to convince the masses that hard rock, grunge rock and alternative rock are just for piercing parlors and skateboard parks. So to compensate for their total dislike and overall lack of a proper understanding of the genre, they hype up the same two or three halfway decent but still undeserving bands year after year. Sure, they'll mention the top artists like Sevendust, Linkin' Park and System of a Down, but they'll never acknowledge them for what they truly are.

The Foo Fighters get the most undeserved praise and exposure, Coldplay is a close second.

Meanwhile, Metallica, Megadeth and the Cult have been going strong for, what, twenty years now?

And speaking of unjustly underrated artists:

Artist: Everlast (featuring Carlos Santana)
Album: Eat at Whitey's
Song: Babylon Feeling

I didn't say they were completely devoid of talent, but you have to at least admit that there isn't really anything special about them either. They don't get all the praise and exposure they do because their good -- they get it because of their relation to Nirvana.

Do they deserve some exposure? Yes. Just not nearly as much as they get. Sure, I like some of their material too, but I like a lot of other bands more than them.

Oh, if you're wondering, the third band that gets the most undeserved hype other than Foo Fighters and Coldplay is Blink182. Again, their a fairly decent band, but just like with Foo Fighters, there are countless other bands that sound just like them or are so much better than they are. U2's another band that gets praised to an extreme, but being one of those bands that's been going strong for 20+ years, I consider all that exposure to be long overdue.

And as long as I live with my asshole brother, whenever my computer is on, WMP will be on:

Band: Soul Coughing
Album: Irresistable Bliss
Song: Super Bon Bon
