A "Wendigo" TV series is supposedly upcoming (see this site for details). It is based on a movie and the related comic book, and depicts the wendigo as a deer/human shapeshifter (the folklore wendigo can be depicted in many different ways, it is one of the most variable and hard-to-pin down mythical monsters out there).

I wonder what time slot its going to be in and who will be airing it.

Well I have seen several different versions of a wendigo, I had made up my own version of one, but here's some pics I found of peoples depiction of them:

Huh...I've never heard of the deer version before. The only ones I've come across describe the creature as being one (or more) of these: a wraithlike being, a giant skeleton with glowing red eyes and a heart made of ice, and a thing that's somewhere between a cat and a monstrous reptile.

Many Wendigos I've heard of and seen drawings of look like Werewolves, but yes I agree the deer is a different approach.

Very cool looking design
The movie was freakin awsome, so hopefully this will be really good as well.
Hope it comes on soon, and not somewhere crappy like FoxKids on Sat. mornings

the second and last descriptions are actually from the game werewolf "apocalypse" and the more myth accurate description is a giant zombielike being with a heart made of polished ice

The wendigo I was told about doesn't even look like that I was told it looked like a human but dead with its eyes missing and its fingers and bottum and upper lip chewed off and a bunch of other stuff like that so yea but maybe it looks like that too but I wouldnt really know.
