*nods* The Fantastic 4 were... Well, they were decent as comic book heroes, but the concept itself is borderline lame in terms of the big screen (sad but true, stretchiness and invisibility have been way overdone), though obviously they've taken that into consideration and gone to some lengths to make it much more badass than the comic book.Plaid wrote:As a fan of the F4 comics I'm... well, I'm a little scared about this one. I want it to be good, I really do... I just can't help thinking it wont be.
I think I'm going to wait for the reviews on this one. This one is either going to be a huge success or a huge flop -- not anything in between.
True, true... Actually, by reviews, I actually meant what I read on the forums I attend...Figarou wrote:Terastas wrote:

I never go by reviews. I judge the film for myself. I don't have a home theater for nothing, ya know.
Like this one, for example.
The thing about the F4 is that the strength of the comic lies in the character's development and interaction, not in super-cool butt-kicking. Sure, they go on fun adventures all the time, but in truth the comic isn't as serious in that aspect as most others are. In fact, if you step back and look at it their adventures can be downright corny, and thier creation story doesn't work well in today's age at all.Terastas wrote:*nods* The Fantastic 4 were... Like I said, the heart of the comic is the characters. The fact that they bothered to make it seem more... badass disturbs me the most out of all I've seen. Maybe they shoud have ran with the overall lameness of it, and made the movie a kind of character-driven comedy type thing... If there is such a thing...
Werewolf By Night should be cool...I still can't believe it took me as long as it did to catch the little in-joke about the lead character's name..Jack Russell..like the terrier..
FF4 looks pretty cool, tho at first I wasn't too crazy about the casting..from the trailer tho it looks like the choices work.
